Resumo: The hosting organization is located close to the center (250.000 inhabitants).The town is one of the biggest agglomeration in the region and therefore offers a lot of various activities.

Apart from its multicultural history, the region offers beautiful beaches, that are crowded in the summer by foreigners and Polish
tourists. As there are few universities a lot of young Polish people live there and makes the region a truly lively place. Furthermore,
there are theaters, opera, cinemas and pubs, clubs and discos, so everyone can find there something for themselves.

Perfil: ‣A volunteer should be communicative and open for new experiences, creative and inventive.
‣It is welcome if the volunteer has basic English language skills and is willing to study Polish. It would help a lot in the daily life
of a volunteer and would enable him/her to be more involved in the organizations life.
‣Both male and female volunteers are wanted.
‣The volunteer should be interested in methods of active education, open for people from other countries and cultures and
willing to co-operate and work in group. S/he should be open-minded. We are searching for young people, who would contribute
to the actions taken by the organization and would like to develope his/her personality.
‣Interested volunteers should enter the web page of the contact point organization, where they can find
actual information about vacant places and the application form to download. The volunteers are matched with the project
according to the information in the application.

age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The organization is an institution, where volunteers can spend time and work with people in every age and different nationalities, who
are our guests. The organization consists of 22 branches, which are situated in different districts. Our aim is to meet cultural
needs of our society. The assumption of this project is that one volunteer could realize his project in one dedicated branch, but
this does not exclude his activities and cooperation with other branches. Volunteer will have the opportunity to broaden their
own knowledge and creativity. At the beginning s/he will watch the activities, which will be conducted in the organization and become
familiar with other duties librarians. With the time, the volunteer will be able to conduct workshops on their own.

Help is needed in all kinds of tasks, some simple and some more complex. Volunteer will support employers of the organization in
actions taken by them, daily tasks, so the opportunities include helping with:
‣working with patrons (no age limits – our guests are children a the age of 6 to 14 as well as seniors),
‣preparing and conducting different activities for groups of children and youth (learning trough fun)
‣preparing and conducting workshops for families
‣organizing special events (book-exchange picnic)
‣using the computers, which are at the organization
‣keeping our materials and our buildings in good shape
‣working with books, CDs, and other materials
‣labeling,
‣creating displays,
‣planning and presenting programs,
‣books and shelves maintaining

The organization is opened 5 days a week. Opening hour are: 11.30 a.m. – 07.00 p.m. Volunteer will work up to 8 hours a day, 5 days a
week. Detailed schedule will be specified after a consultation with the volunteer.
