Resumo: The activities are designed to impart some educational chats in High Schools and related to health, sexuality and feeding themes. The volunteer will accompany the coordinator of the program like the monitors of such different activities so much as: logistical support confirming previously the material and monitors. The coordination in the centres, attention in the stands of “the fruit days” and carrying out surveys of valuation for the improvement in future editions.
In the summer months, the volunteer will participate in activities of spare time of the Town Hall or in the Youth Center as support to the monitors of the urban camp.

Perfil: Boy between 23-30 years old. Previous experience with children/youngsters will be considered.

Youth motivated to participate and get involved in the activities for youth. For the selection process, a CV and motivation letter will have to be sent in which the volunteer states motivation to carry out an EVS, how they can contribute with the organisation and future plans. Potential candidates will be sent a personal questionnaire with questions about hobbies, aims, previous experiences as volunteers or collaboration with other organisations and suggestions for the success of the project.
After this, we will get in touch with the sending organisation to get information about the young people: concerns, how long ago they know them and real interest for participating in an EVS.

Tarefas: Regarding the role of the volunteers in the organisation, they will support the youth technicians in their programmes, carried out quarterly, monthly, fortnightly or punctually, both inside and outside the premises of the different departments. They will both participate in the organisation and in carrying them out.

Description of activities:
The volunteers will support the Youth Information Centre with the creation of the monthly Youth Agenda, up-dating the information, with the diffusion of the EVS, organisation of Youth Exchanges and promotion of the YiA Programme.
They will accompany the technician responsible for Infomovil in the visits to the educational centres.
Within the programme “La Nevera”, they will accompany the technician and speakers of different talks and activities carried out in the secondary schools of the city.
They will help with the organisation of the quarterly programme of activities and participate in the workshops which interest them, so that they get more familiar with our city and youth.
At the same time, they may create new ways of diffusion of Centro 14, innovating cultural workshops (languages, gastronomy, folklore,...) in order to bring different cultures of Europe more close together. This way, local youth, Erasmus students and other youth from other countries could exchange knowledge and get closer.
They will also collaborate with other municipal programmes, like “Jovenes Solidarios” (Solidarity Youth) and the “Centro Juvenil Pavirre” (Youth Centre Pavirre), running with success in the most disfavoured areas of the city. We consider that the EVS volunteers can make an important contribution for this collective.


Horário: Participation time: 30 h/week ( Volunteers at the Youth Information Centre, usually from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 14:30; volunteers in the actions in the Northern Area, from 16:30 to 22:30, and some hours in the mornings and on weekends, depending on the needs.
Language training: 4h/week, included in the participation time. Once we know the level, we can specify when the training will take place.

Condições: To ensure quality, welfare and training, volunteers may be accommodated in the residence “La Florida”, where they get food, laundry and cleaning. This is a university student residence. They can also live in flats of the programme Solidarity Youth, in the city area “Juan XXIII”, shared with local young people. In this case, they are in charge of their food, laundry and cleaning.
Volunteers get a mentor assigned who will weekly meet with volunteers to solve any matter and supervise the correct running of the activities. The frequent presence of the mentor is very important to transmit volunteers the needed confidence to obtain positive results.
They will receive a public transport card, so they can freely move in the city. They will also get city maps and useful information to integrate as a local citizen.
Regarding language , they will learn the formal and the colloquial language. Spanish classes: twice a week, during the whole project. Sharing the flat with other local people will make them learn very quickly.
Training at arrival and intermediate evaluation will be organised by the Spanish NA.

Formação: We want to offer volunteers the chance of:
• Working in teams with other youth and technicians of the City Council.
• Learning a foreign language (both colloquial language in their daily life as formal spoken and written language through Spanish language classes.
• Knowing the activities and services offered to youth in the city the City Council.
• Participating actively in the planning of the different workshops.
• Suggesting and creating new activities for the local community.
• Promoting their country of origin among our youth.
• Developing social training skills.
• Knowing a new culture in all its aspects.
• Participating in social, cultural and educational programmes.
• Participating in the development of a more disfavoured community of the city.
