Resumo: The aim of the project is to civically activate the young people so that they can get involved in solidarity, civic activities and the promotion of tolerance and understanding, as well as in activities to combat social exclusion.
In the short term, our goal is to increase the participation of disadvantaged young people in the city, and not only in
civic and volunteer activities, using journalistic methods communicated and developed in the online environment.

In the long run, this project aims to increase the employment opportunities of the volunteers who will take part in the activities, as well as to increase the journalistic and work experience with disadvantaged young people of the 12 volunteers involved in this project.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
some (or even more) experience in writing articles, editing online media and social media content, organising online and offline campaigns etc

Tarefas: 1. To develop volunteer experience and tolerance among the 12 volunteers involved in this project
2. To increase the knowledge about journalism and civic involvement of the 12 volunteers involved in this project
3. To develop the trust and entrepreneurial spirit of the 12 volunteers involved in this project
3. To develop new sources of information for young people and the local community in the city
4. To promote solidarity and respect between the inhabitants during the 24 months of the project
5. To improve communication between public authorities and the local community, especially young people in the city in
the 24 months of the project
6. To increase the involvement of young people with reduced opportunities, including young Roma and young people with disabilities in
volunteer programs within the European Solidarity Corps

At the same time, we want to promote social inclusion, tolerance, the development of civic spirit and the spirit of unity at the local level, especially when it comes to the interaction between the marginalized communities of the city and the rest of the population. Combating prejudices and stereotypes towards the poor communities in the city through civic activities and informing the population is a priority of our project.

In this project we will involve two local volunteers selected from these marginalized communities (communities ghetto in the city) in each stage just to facilitate communication and interaction with these communities.

The main reasons behind this project were:
– lack of opportunities for young people to develop their skills and abilities to get a job
– very poor communication between public authorities and the local community, especially with marginalized areas of the city
– the negative image that disadvantaged communities have both in the local press and in general as a perception of the community
– very low interaction between the inhabitants of the city and the inhabitants of disadvantaged communities
– discrimination, including of young people looking for a job, due to the stereotypes and prejudices that disadvantaged communities in the city face
– low involvement in volunteer activities of city dwellers
– the very low civic spirit of the inhabitants of the city and especially of those in the marginalized areas due to distrust
– the lack of information sources that present the information impartially and non-discriminatory

Our project addresses the following problems and challenges of European society:
1. Reduced access to youth jobs.

Through this project we want to offer the possibility to the 12 volunteers to develop their skills and competencies and to get a place in the future more easily.
2. Inclusion of vulnerable groups
Through this project we want to fight stereotypes, prejudices and lack of information and increase the degree of tolerance and acceptance of the inhabitants of marginalized communities, especially young people.
3. Civic participation and involvement of citizens
Through this project we want to develop the civic spirit and solidarity of the inhabitants of Resita and their involvement in civic volunteer activities.
