• if possible experiences with children
• The volunteer should stay for one year
• Youth with fewer opportunities after individual requests

Tarefas: The volunteers can participate in all functional areas. Volunteers can work either in the younger groups of 2-3 year old children as well as with the older, 4-6 year old children. Main tasks will be in the child care. This includes for example individual games and plays, take care of the children and organizing different group activities. The volunteers can implement own projects and get help with this.

Horário: The volunteer will work 35-hours/week from Monday till Friday. In the evening she or he will attend German classes.

Condições: The volunteers and the sending organization get all important information in advance so that they do not come with wrong expectations. We can also prepare a project visit if necessary. We provide reports and photos. The volunteers should also contact the volunteer who is already in the project (phone or email). We make sure that the volunteers feel welcomed. We give them a list of phone numbers of tutors and a weekly schedule for the first introduction week right at the beginning.
The volunteers have different tutors for different situations: for work-related issues the responsible person in the project, who does regular reflection meetings and as well a local volunteer 'leisure tutor", about the same age, for the support in social integration and recreation. Plus the tutor of IN VIA Köln e.V., who offers monthly reflection meetings, who can be seen as a Mediator, he accompanies the learning processes and helps with technical issues (housing, food, allowance, etc). In addition, there are German teachers for the language support. The volunteers and the tutor also have regular contact with the sending organization. The volunteers attend all the seminars, which are provided by the German national agency. There is an emergency phone number at which the volunteers can reach the tutor 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Formação: Through the participation in the European Voluntary Service the association would like to give young people the chance to try themselves in the work with children, to get more independent, to grow personally, to get to know Germany, Cologne and a new language and live their voluntary engagement.
We also hope young motivated international volunteers can be a great enrichment for our team and the children. They support an international atmosphere, which we would like to live for our children. We hope to gain new perspectives and mutual learning on social, practical and intercultural level. We had already taken many trainees and volunteers, as well from various countries around the world and usually had very good experiences. We would like to continue to do so in the future in a stronger and more reliable framework with the European Voluntary Service.
