Resumo: The coordinating organization is one of the 10 Finnish Youth Centres working with the financial support of the Ministry of Education. According to the Youth Work of Finland the Youth Centres should help the national youth work, camp schools and youth travel and provide services for them. The Youth Centres in 2000 strategy emphasizes, among other things, the prevention of disadvantagedness of young people, international activities and development of the youth work methods. Youth Centre is member of National Finnish Youth Centres Net work organisation.
The coordinating organization answers these challanges by arranging camp schools, intrenational and adventure activities, activities on the sea as well as hobbies and cultural activities for the children and the youth. EVS-Cordination is important service for local youth work in our region.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Tarefas: Volunteers’ tasks include working at a local youth center, organizing events with staff in the fields of sport and culture, reporting, photography, updating websites and writing a blog there once a week. The volunteer can also visit local schools and kindergartens to talk about their work and present their own country and culture. A volunteer is involved organizing events, excursions and camps. He can also work in a workshop for unemployed young people. The volunteer also helps with daily work such as office work, maintenance of equipment and supplies, etc.
Horário: The weekly working hours of the volunteers are 35 hours. Work is usually done Monday through Friday in the morning or evening shift, but there can also be work on weekends. The volunteer has two days off / month.
Condições: Whenever possible, the volunteer participates in a language course and is supported in independent language learning. The volunteer stays in the dormitory of the adult college, in his/her own room and kitchen and bathroom shared with other residents. On weekdays, the volunteer receives hot food at work and is paid food allowance to prepare for the other meals of the day. The volunteer participates in on-arrival training and a mid-term meeting organized by Finnish National Agency. During the project, the volunteer meets with the mentor at agreed intervals to discuss the progress of the project and the challenges and successes of the volunteer.
