Resumo: The coordinating organization is one of the 10 Finnish Youth Centres working with the financial support of the Ministry of Education. According to the Youth Work of Finland the Youth Centres should help the national youth work, camp schools and youth travel and provide services for them. The Youth Centres in 2000 strategy emphasizes, among other things, the prevention of disadvantagedness of young people, international activities and development of the youth work methods. Youth Centre is member of National Finnish Youth Centres Net work organisation.
The coordinating organization answers these challanges by arranging camp schools, intrenational and adventure activities, activities on the sea as well as hobbies and cultural activities for the children and the youth. EVS-Cordination is important service for local youth work in our region.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Tarefas: The volunteer’s job responsibilities are related to all the work done in the club: the volunteer is involved organizing club activities, courses, camps and events. The club organizes a variety of courses and clubs in different parts of the villages, enabling children and young people to participate in various clubs and events near their homes, in which case the lack of local transport in rural areas does not prevent participation. The volunteer is involved in organizing these activities. The program may include a chess club, a cooking club, a hobby horse course, a nature club, and a volunteer can also plan club or course activities according to their own skills.
Horário: The weekly working hours of the volunteers are 35 hours. Work is usually done Monday through Friday in the morning or evening shift, but there can also be work on weekends. The volunteer has two days off / month
Condições: The volunteer lives in the Youth Centre together with other volunteers. The apartment has a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Volunteer get one warm meal in the workplace and in addition food allowance to prepare other meals of the day independently. For work trips, volunteer get a bus card or ride from co-workers. For trips to the bus station volunteer gets a bike. In small rural areas local transport is not always possible and distances are long, so biking is very common and handy way to reach places. Volunteer take part in a language course and in case courses are not organized, teaching can be arranged with the help of a private teacher and by supporting independent language learning.
