Resumo: Volunteering, connecting people is a European Solidarity Corps project, a residential educational youth centre. Next to residential care, the place offers possibilities for oratory( playground), youth work, holiday camps, homework support and different projects supporting the development of young people.
Volunteering, connecting people will have a specific focus on integral ecology approach and education. We want to propose a new experiment aiming to act in the field of integral ecology education with concrete actions.

One of our values is to be confident in the fact that young people are the main actors to lead the change now for tomorrow. They are also the most important ambassador for other young people. That is why the role of the volunteers will be to generate projects among the boarding school and neighbourhood towards young people to 4 years old to 25 years old. The proposed project topics are
• Living together regardless economic, social and cultural differences and regardless the inter relations : religious, generational,
• Protection and natural resources saving,
• Citizenship education and active citizenship

The integral ecology is based on the fact that everything is connected. That is why it is important to take care of our different relationships with the others, the nature, itself and the transcendental. With our relations, our life together, we promote the care for our common house (the earth). All of that aims to promote the integral development of each person.
In the daily life we use a method called « design for change »®. This method provides the opportunity to experiment first, and then to support / to accompany others youth to experiment. The experiment leads the young people to be aware of the world around them, to be enable with their skills and the ones that they can develop to take action and to empower youth to design a more desirable and sustainable future, today.

The hosting organization is looking for 2 European volunteers to do a one year voluntary (October –August) service to implement different projects on the above described topics. The target group consists mainly of: children and youths between 6-18 years old, young adults and students living on the premises of the organization, people an families living in the neighborhood.
The main task of the volunteers is to build up a relationship with the children and youngsters and to organize workshops, activities, educational and recreational activities for them. In this respect, the volunteer is expected to take part in the daily activities of the boarding school

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for volunteers with a good/ basic knowledge of the French language. Because both the employees and children at the centre are speaking French. However this is not a strict recuirement, as long as the volunteer is willing to learn the language using the OLS program.

Tarefas: More specifically, the tasks of the volunteers will consist of:
- To build up a relationship with the youths
- Organize cultural, sportive and educative activities/workshops for children, young people of DB Ganshoren
- Guide excursions 2 times a year
- Support the oratory and youth center during their activities
- Organize awareness campaigns, workshops and educational activities for young people living in the neighborhood
- To attend the weekly staff meeting
- Take part in Youth-net activities

The volunteer will be supported in this by the experienced staff. They have been working with international volunteers in other projects.

As described before, we are looking for 2 volunteers. Next to that, we will also be hosting different short term volunteers for a service of 2 months. So, you will definitely meet many (international) people.
