- Interest and motivation on adaptation and communication
- Empathy and sensitivity to children and teenagers.
- Active, participative and collaborating attitude
- Motivated by sports and crafts.
- Interest in the field of childhood and adolescence social risk
- Basic knowledge of Castilian to establish an optimal relation with the children.

Tarefas: The European volunteer, will join the childhood and teenager Programmes from Red Cross Manresa:
- toy library Ludugurus
- open centre Casal-Ot
- project with adolescents JNA

All these projects count on professionals responsible for the services and on the collaboration of local volunteers. In no case will the European or local volunteers replace paid work; their roll is clearly defined as support to the work of the instructors. This does not mean that they do not have a responsibility, but it's limited and under supervision. The commitment from the volunteers is of up most importance.

1) The toy library Ludugurus is an educative project with the primary target to educate in the free time through games and toys.
It consists of a set of toys selected with pedagogical criteria that are made available to children for playing in the facilities. It offers several services as: direction and advise on games and toys and different animation activities.
The toy library works mainly in these areas:
- As a space for relating and leisure
- School work and daily life support.
- Communitarian: parties and celebrations, optimal civic relation with the community.
- Intercultural: learning how to live together with different cultures.

There are two age groups: the smaller ones from 5 to 7 years and the older ones from 8 to 12, each group can attend a total of 20 children.
The schedule is from Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 20:30.

The activities of the volunteers are:
- To collaborate in the coordination, planning and execution of the activities of the centre
- To attend monitoring meetings with instructors and other volunteers
- To search for and make specific pedagogical resources for the centre
- To support the game activities.


2)The Opened Centre of the Old District, Casal-Ot, is a project of education in the free time of Red Cross Manresa. It is directed to young children between 3 to 12 years in situation of risk of social exclusion who are living with their family.
Its runs from Monday to Friday, from 16:00 to 20:00 in the afternoon, during the school year. In summer the schedule is from 10:00 to 15:00 hours.
The centre welcomes a total of 20 children. The educative team is formed by three social and voluntary educators.

Objectives:
To educate
To prevent situations with social risk
To work personal habits
To work in a network with other spaces and people with whom the children have contact.
To work with their family
To make the Open Centre accessible to the community.

Condições: The volunteer will work in a safe environment. He or she will be insured under a civil liability insurance from the organisation.
The volunteer's activities will be monitored.

Formação: The presence of the volunteers within these projects dealing with children and adolescents provides them knowledge of other cultures and us with other ways of working with these collectives.
With the help of the volunteers we also strengthen the relations of the adults with the children and adolescents.
