Resumo: The organization is a rural development association. It is a non-profit organisation which aims to encourage rural inhabitants to develop their local area. The association cooperates with local people, enterprises, communities, organizations and authorities in seven municipalities in the cost line of western Finland. The association distributes grants to non-profit development projects and enterprise projects.
The organization targets all audiences. In particular, the association is working for the youth and aims to encourage young people to act as active members in the area.

Perfil: We would like to receive active volunteers who are motivated to work with children and young people. Working hours will change according to tasks, so volunteers need to be flexible. As the tasks include working with children, an extract of the criminal records is required. Volunteers must be prepared to live in rural environment and in Finnish winter circumstances.
Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The hosting organization develops rural areas across seven municipalities in Northern Finland. In this project two (2) volunteers will work with young people. The municipality has a population of 6 700, and approx. 40% of them are under twenty years old. The town is know for vast fields as far as the eye can see. Volunteers will participate in the local youth work: joining youth clubs, youth workshops etc. They will work together with local youth to create activities and increase involvement. Volunteers will also be planning and organising events for and with local residents, including events which celebrate the start of the Christmas season. The project starts on 1 September and ends on 22 December 2020 if the National Agency confirms funding. (the exact dates may change depending on how the coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19) affects the circumstances)

Condições: Volunteers will be accommodated in an apartment. Volunteers will need to cook for themselves (food allowance and pocket money will be provided). Within the municipality the distances are short: main venues are mainly reachable by foot. If needed, other transportation will be provided.
