Resumo: The association has to achieve solidarity and social advancement for persons with disabilities to ensure the inalienable right to a free life and protected, as independent as possible while respecting their dignity.
The volunteer will learn to work with people with disabilities, to listen them through a non-verbal language, he’ll learn to appreciate diversity and to respect the dignity of every person.
He can participate with our disables to some art workshops (clay, papermaking, sewing) and to a theatre workshop based on the need to investigate and test new forms of expression for people with disabilities.
The European Youth will be part of a team and he will support us in various activities in the organisation.
The volunteer will accompany our disable people in all daily activities and he may propose ideas to create new workshops

Perfil: The volunteer must be motivated to work with people with disabilities, to listen and respect them. He should have ability to work in teams and work together. We would prefer a volunteer who proposes to give and receive emotions, experiences and feelings. Given the role that the volunteer will be covered maturity and seriousness are fundamental.

Tarefas: In general, the European volunteer in pur organisation may: - help educators in several workshops aimed at people with disabilities (cutting and sewing, decoupage, photo, music, design); - assist and participate in the workshop of drama therapy; - accompany people with disabilities in various sporting activities (yoga, golf, soccer, basketball, swimming); - Support the secretariat in organizing events and conferences about disability; - Supporting the secretary to organise party, sports events (es. cycling Anffas); - support the Communication area (update the Association website, create flyers, helping to draft the newspaper) The activities will include tours / cultural trips, summer holidays, movies, shopping, eating out, social outings. The European volunteer , if he agree, he could create and animate, with the support of the mentor, an “Europe workshop” aimed at disabled people to increase their knowledge of Europe, its member, its people, (for example using role play, video). The activities will be scheduled weekly, taking into account of needs and preferences of the volunteer. The youth can participate in the training that we organize every year for all volunteers of the Association. The European volunteer will have a personal italian teacher or he may attend an italian course for foreigners at a school near the association (in base of his arrival period and his needs), he may increase the knowledge of the language through continuous contact with the staff. The volunteer will share a flat with other young people and he’ll have lunch at the canteen of the organisation and in the flat.

Horário: The Europeans volunteer will work from Monday to Friday (30 hours per week). He will have two free days (Saturday and Sunday). If there are some activities on the weekend he will recover his free time during the week.

Condições: The volunteer will always be followed by the tutor and all the staff, for all requirements the volunteer will never be left alone.

The psychologist of the association is available for eventual talks and supports.

All volunteers of our Association are insured.

Formação: The young people will learn to work in a team, to be independent, to organize their work, to address problematic situations; we believe that this experience will be very useful for his future because he will provide valuable instrument of personal and relational growth
The volunteer will know "the big family of the assicuation", its structure, its ideals and its goals.
The volunteer will reflect on topics of interest such as disability, equal opportunities, anti-discrimination, social inclusion, human rights, in a European vision.
The volunteer will know the Italian language, culture and cuisine and he’ll learn to interact with people of other nationalities.
