Resumo: The Institut is an organization for people with learning disabilities and severe multiple handicaps and working respect of Christian traditions. It offers residential, occupational and working facilities for the targeted population. A multi professional team is facing the varying social challenges by modern specific educational and therapeutic approaches.

Around 100 residents (children, adults & elderly), live in the structure in family-like residential units of 8 to 10 persons. Self-determination and normalization are our major goals. Assisted by the staff and according to their individual possibilities, the residents take part in every day life. The center includes specific working structures, such as soap production, recycling, cleaning and laundry services, cooking and catering services as well as the therapeutic & creative workshops, musical therapy, physiotherapy & occupational therapy. Fostering social contacts with externals (including volunteers) is a key issue.

Perfil: We are looking for up to 3 young, motivated people who can imagine supporting mentally handicapped young people in their daily lives. This includes an openness in dealing with various disabilities, a friendly nature and the willingness to face the challenges linked to disabilities or behavioral problems. Having skills in Luxemburgish or German language will be very helpful since it will ease the communication with our residents.

Tarefas: the volunteers will accompany the children, young people and young adults in their daily leisure time: creative activities, fun activities, .

Condições: The volunteers will live in a renovated house on the site of Institut. They have single rooms with all facilities and share the kitchen, the living room and the bathroom. Facilities for everyday life are easily accessible, including public transport. Public transport is completely for free in the whole country. Pocket money and food allowance are paid by bank transfer on a monthly basis.
