Resumo: The coordinating organization is a non-profit organization based on Christian values that provides services in the area of social work, health and education. The coordinating organization target groups are primarily people with disabilities, the elderly, the homeless, disadvantaged children, minorities and others in need. Presently, the coordinating organization runs more than 60 centres employing over 600 people, delivering services to almost 8000 users. The centres comprise of dormitories, day-cares, schools, shelters and training flats. The scope of SD activities also involves counselling and field work related to issues such as domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, exclusion of minorities or institutional care of children. Integration to society and access to open labour market are significant objectives when working with people with disabilities.

In the context of European Voluntary Service, the organization has the role of the coordinating organization. It believes that Erasmus + programme is an invaluable source of learning opportunities for everyone involved within the process. Above all, SD emphasizes the importance of informal education and encourages volunteers to work consciously on their professional, personal and spiritual development.

Perfil: The volunteer should have a little knowledge of the mental disability, or at least be comfortable with the fact that people with mental disabilities are part of the society - then they will bether able to work in this situation. it would be nice to have creative, extroverted and empathetic volunteer.
Empathy is needy to overcomethe languange barrier - this is important. we will also happy to have a responsible volunteer. it is hard and unpleasant to work with a demotivated volunteer who often gets sick.
Age: 18-30

Tarefas: Your main task will be to provide individual and personal support to people. You will support and assist them during practical activities like pottery andtextile workshops, gardening, art workshop, sport activities (Boccia).
You will accompany them during experiental therapies such as basal stimulation, canine therapy, therapy with horses and others. You will take part in activities outside placement (trips, walks, various events). You will also accompany and assist users during activities necessary for everyday life, such as basic education, development of motor skills, memory training, care of one´s own body and appearance. You will cooperate with social workers and workers in social services. There will be an opportunity to make your own mini-project.
