Resumo: The hosting organization is a non-governmental and non-profit association without any political linkage, registered in the National Register of Associations since 1998 and working for the environment and culture committed to rural development. The organization makes up a team of volunteers who support the association with its capabilities and motivations doing activities to support local initiatives primarily through international volunteer camps, training seminars, international exchanges and local activities, allowing to get maximum social, mediatic and educational performance for our work claim.
We also support the municipalities and local administrations in where we find ourselves in activities and services that otherwise could not be performed. Our work is structured in three areas: volunteering, local development and training.
- Volunteering Area: we perform concrete and local voluntary actions especially through youth exchanges inside and outside Spain, international work camps, European Voluntary Service, where there may be some component of denunciation and restoration.
- Local Area Development: We advise and support initiatives of municipalities, NGOs and individuals for local development, and environmental protection.
- Area Formation: In the organization, we prepare courses and seminars to inform young people and activists on matter of volunteering as well as environmental workshops in English promoting education in value and the promotion of Eco-active citizenship.
Mainly our activities are held in the mountainous, and also we have activities in different rural parts of Spain. We have established networks with different organizations and associations in other parts of Spain and Europe, as Alliance and the International Civil Service and also local networks of young Spaniards.
We have participated continuously in the Youth in Action Programme, now Erasmus +, sending at least 8 groups per year and organizing three to four events since 2006. We also work with other European funds such as Europe for Citizens and European Social Fund.
Perfil: We are looking for young people (20+y.o. to 30) who have good musical skills and can be a group leader. If you are a photographer or a video maker, it will be a plus. Additionally, Spanish skills are very welcome.
Tarefas: We are looking for musicians able to create a street band (to be a workcamp leader) to play Swing Music on the streets. This project is a special art and culture project based on promoting voluntary activism. The volunteers will play in the house for elderly people, mental handicapped hospital, and in the end, the project will finish on the streets with Lindy Hop groups that are keen to dance on the streets every week, creating a charming and lovely environment for the citizens. T
hey will help by playing live music while some giving visibility to citizens’ initiative. They will end up playing on a party to fundraise for environmental projects and in a big local festival en Xavia.
Condições: First days will be used to practise and group dynamics, and therefore the group will stay at a remote house to be able to create a repertory. Following days they will be travelling to the locations and will stay separately at the houses of locals. Food expenses are covered by the organization (5 euros per day). The volunteers are meant to cook their meals. This project will include one day only vegan food day agreed by volunteers for the promotion of an environmentally sustainable lifestyle.
