Resumo: The hosting organization is a non lucrative, humanitarian and charity organisation from the Catholic Church. The hosting organization has 7 workers and more than 100 volunteers that work in different programs.
The organization fights against poverty, exclusions, lack of tolerance and discrimination. It helps people with less resources to participate in the issues that concern their own life. Also, people with risk of exclusion are helped by giving them shelter for some days, food and resources in case they have problems with the health.
In The organization there are different programs and projects focused on the people and their needs. Also, the organization offers help with food services (social dining room and month delivery food) and also help to provide clothes in the shop. In addition to this, the organisation cooperates with others organizations in some specific programs for elderly people, children and also women in need (Clara Project). The organization also have a program for homeless people.
The organization has 7 years’ experience hosting EVS, and also 4 years experience hosting young people in workcamps. It has a wide program of activities hosted 95% by volunteers. European Volunteers will work in the same projects as the other local volunteers and they will join the same trainings as the local volunteers. the organization has one person responsible for volunteering and also a supervisor of the projects. In addition to it, they can also rely on a psychologist that helps all the people that are in need.

Age: 18-30
Tarefas: -Assist and attend the users of the organization in the office: controlling waiting lists, welcome the users who are waiting to be attended, etc.
-Help the social worker: In this activity, the volunteer will assist the women and girls in need together with the psychologist and social worker (CLARA project). The volunteer will participate as observer and help the psychologist to prepare activities. He or she will give support to the development of the workshops (literacy workshops, etc.)
-Helping and assisting in the social dining room: serve food to people who have low incomes. The dining room is run by volunteers and one social worker. In the dining, volunteer will help in the kitchen, serve the food, organize the dining room and talk to the users.
- Assist in Valentina project: people from the dining room take part in the project and each week they organize an activity with the aim of encouraging, meeting, discussing themes of interest of the participants, enjoying, etc. It's a place to get to know oneself better but also people in the dining room.
- Clothes shop: help in the shop, arrange the clothes, assist the people that come, organize the shop.
- Distribute food twice a month during two mornings for people with low incomes.
-Homeless shelter: volunteer might go to homeless centre to help noons to prepare and distribute food.
- During the volunteer staying, the organization can have different projects that were not planned at the beginning of the year and where the volunteer will participate.
-Personal Project: prepare, present, find support, realize and evaluate their own initiative in the organization.
- Cooperation with the coordinator organization: telling tales and the Library of Tortosa for the day of the mother tongue or the day of the poetry.
- Diffusion of volunteering opportunities, ESC and Erasmus Plus: create together with other ESC or former EVS volunteers and members of Obre't'ebre, talks and/or theatre plays in formal and non-formal educative centres or cultural centres.
- CES project as complementary activity: all the volunteers hosted during this period will create a performance about CES in order to promote CES values of volunteering in schools, youth organisations, etc. The volunteer needs to work on it with the other volunteers all together. There will be a day per week or every two weeks to prepare it. We will schedule it on arrival. It’s important that the volunteer shows interest and have ideas about it.
