Resumo: The Calvary fund was established in 2008 and its mission is total renewal of historical UNESCO complex of churches and chapels - The Calvary of Banska Stiavnica. It truly is the most outstanding Baroque Calvary complex in the territory of the Slovak Republic. The complex itself consists of 25 buildings including three churches and chapels decorated with invaluable paintings.

It was build in the middle of 18th century and was massively used by pilgrims and tourists from the whole country. Unfortunately during and after communism regime it was devastated by ravages of time, robbers and vandals. This led to the situation that in 2007 it was listed among 100 world´s most endangered UNESCO monuments in the world.Our mission is to change this status and to bring this monument back to its former religious, cultural and recreational MEANING life. This is possible thanks to many sponsors, hundreds of professional workers and thousands of volunteers from all around the world.

The beauty of Calvary and its renewal attracts public attention and the number of visitors is growing up to 40 000 every year.Although there is still a lot of work to do, there is already a lot of public events, such as music concerts, theater performances, religious ceremonies and even marriages taking place yearly. European volunteers can become a part of its daily life. Thanks to them, it is possible to run exhibition about its history and present visited by tourists and pilgrims from the whole world where the volunteers provide guiding service, they will help during organization of work camps and organization of public events linked with the Calvary and with Banska Stiavnica UNESCO town.We also cooperate with other organizations and volunteers are also helping with managment of scout campsite in the mountains and various cultural activities in the town.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: Our mani mission is a reconstruction of unique baroque Calvary complex. The volunteers work as guides in small exhibition or help with mainance of the area. Beside that you can participate in works on historical campsite and work on various other activities according to your specific skills.

you will live in international environment meet many young people. In a Uneso town in Slovakia. it is offering lot of cultural events and experience in tourist industry ehich you can use in your later career.
