Resumo: The Youth council is a non-governmental youth organization, which uses non-formal education methods to organizing various events – trainings, seminars, camps, informative campaigns and other events for young people (13-25 years old) on topics that are important for them – career, business, educational possibilities, health and healthy lifestyle, participation, politics, mass media etc.
The organization was created in 2003 and it has since implemented more than 20 projects of various scale, ranging from small youth initiative projects to long term cross border projects with multiple partners.
The council pays specific attention to develop youth leadership skills thus promoting youth creativity, self-initiative, organizing ability, argumentation and public performance experience. We also provide space for young and inspired activist for their projects and idea implementation.
Organization participates in youth interest advocacy at local level being represented in the Council Youth Committee and other committees and working groups and also at national level being a member of The National Youth Council of Latvi that works on national and EU youth policy issues.
Since December 2015 we ran Ventspils youth house together with the city board of education.
Perfil: • Youngsters aged 18 and 30 years,
• Residents of EU (program) countries,
•Able to communicate in English, which will be working language,
• Is interested in work with youth, adults, teenagers and kids,
• Is interested to create events and activities about environmental topics and create an educational escape room for youth,
• Is ready to create and lead a daily his / her classes or workshops,
• Is able to work individually and in teams,
• Is creative and ready to share his ideas with the local community
• Is willing to spend 6 months in a small town.
Tarefas: You will have a chance to take part in planning day to day activities at the Youth house and create events and workshops about environment and other important topics. You will have a possibility to improve quality of Youth house events and reach out wider age groups and cultures.
You will be free to create and organize your own initiatives - language classes, art classes, cooking workshops, walks, camping trips and outdoor sports events – you just name it.
Daily tasks will include planning events and preparation for the events, classes, workshops, daily for youth house activities such as discussions with the youth, playing board games etc.
And the biggest bonus is that you will have a chance to spend half a year in a small town next to Baltic sea and its white sands.
