Resumo: The hosting organization is a non-governmental, non-profit family center offering education and activities for children, teens, adults and seniors. Its main objective is to offer the local community a place for self-fulfillment. We organise courses, workshops and events designed to support families. We are involved in volunteering, gender inclusion and equal opportunities policies in the labour market, prevention, and councelling. Our centre was run on voluntary basis until 2009. Currently it has 12 members of permanent staff, 15 external co-workers (trainers), 25 local volunteers and 4 ESC volunteers. We would like to increase the number of ESC volunteers to 6 via this re-accreditation.
The premises contain a nursery, an arts room, classrooms, a gym and a multisensory room. This allows us to run courses, seminars and presentations for adults while taking care of their children. We also organise day-camps for children and sports and arts activities.
Our aims:
- to organize regular activities for children and adults of all ages, e.g. courses, seminars, presentations and consultations, including childcare. Group sizes vary from about 3-5 people to about 20 people.
- to provide education and training for our clients. In 2018, we had about 6000 clients.
- to assist in the search of job vacancies according to our clients’ needs
- to offer free time activities to children so that they can spend their time actively in a team, day camps and by taking courses
- to support families in spending time together by outdoor activities, such as trips and camps
We are a hosting and supporting organization for ESC (European Solidarity Corps). We engage volunteers in:
-planning, organizing, running and evaluating arts and sports activities for children in summer camps (about 15 children in one group)
- helping with childcare with 1.5 - 3 year-olds in the creche and in the nursery (about 12-24 children in one group)
-Language conversation in mother tongue or in English (about 3-6 people in one group)
-Promoting and advertising the centre - creating flyers, photo-documentation, production and processing videos
- Working with schools in the region (primarily with elementary and secondary schools)
The hosting organization has been running since 2007 and it is a well-established organisation, having extensive experience with volunteering (hosting and supporting organisation) and providing public service. We have implemented a number of projects on regional, country and international levels, including EU Erasmus+). The hosting organization is financially stable, running several concurrent projects.
The key employees in the family centre, Jitka Janikova and Andrea Klofacova, have had extensive experience with volunteering, project management, financial management and lecturing.
