Resumo: The hosting organization is a non-governmental, environmental organisation founded in 2008. Originally focused on sustainability, it is now expanding to include direct biodiversity conservation efforts on the Maltese Islands.

Aims:

The main aims of the organization fall under three pillars:
1) conducting scientific research,
2) raising awareness of socio-environmental and conservation issues and
3) implementing innovative sustainable solutions to the identified problems.

Since a recent AGM (Aug 2016), a major aim of GHM is to classify the Maltese flora and fauna under the IUCN Red List - a globally recognised standard for evaluating the conservation status of plants and animals. Through conducting baseline surveys, establishing monitoring systems, collecting data and updating the conservation status of Malta's nature, we intend to develop conservation management strategies to protect Malta's biodiversity and natural heritage.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about the natural environment (especially about bees, bats and wild orchids) who are team players and able to communicate in English.
