The volunteer should be willing to participate with her/his own experiences in the daily work of the association. She/he should also be open for new experiences and show some flexibility. Basic computer knowledge could also be quite helpful.

The volunteer will have a tutor who meets regularly with the volunteer. They will talk about advancements and problems. The tutor will also help to solve problems in cooperation with the pedagogical skilled worker in the Jugendwerk. One important task of the tutor is to support the integration of the volunteer into the local community.
In addition to the tutor, the volunteer has certain contact persons in every field of work. Every month there are meetings with the volunteer and also with the volunteer and the tutor to reflect on learning outcomes of the volunteer by using the Youth-Pass, to discuss and evaluate projects and to talk about the well-being of the volunteer.
We are observing that all the instructions and commandments in Germany about job safety and health care are kept.
As a youth Organisation dealing with intercultural and international Youth Work and with nonformal education we have capacity to integrate people with other cultural and educational background. We have professional skilled employees, who are trained to cope with such situations and challenges.
Formação: Hosting a volunteer enables us to get to know different cultures, to experience them and also to get to know our own cultures better. In that way we hope to enhance the understanding and sensitivity for different cultures, attitudes and views. Additionally we want to promote the European awareness of all directly and indirectly involved people and thus develop the idea of a common Europe. Through the process of working together every day in a multicultural team and through participating in different projects in Stuttgart the volunteer can make all these experiences, as well as the volunteers and employees in the association. Hosting European Volunteers is part of the strategy to do more intercultural projects, develop more international youth projects and to raise the sense of european awareness. Hosting European Volunteers is a great enrichment for the Jugendwerk as new intercultural aspects are getting into our organization and we have to advance our work and be more open minded.
