Resumo: The host organization is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation, which has 35 members. It is very active on the field of contemporary art, ICT, non-formal education, science, ecology, entrepreneurship, local handicrafts, youth programs and volunteering, especially in EU Youth in Action and Erasmus + programs. The organization provides non-formal education abroad with multi-cultural atmosphere for the young people.

Perfil: young artist or young people who have art & culture experience
Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The volunteer will be assisting the artists and the curators of Sinopale such as preparing the area for the exhibitions, workshops, lectures, performances, giving information to the audience, protection of the artistic works and materials, graphic designing, communication with the international contacts, providing the comfort of the audiences, contribution to development of the units, etc which SSKD already has. We will also ask the volunteer to organise his/her artistic and cultural workshop, research in the town within personal/professional context during the activity.

The other task of the volunteer is to design prototypes to be produced and sold in favor of the social enterprise of the coordinating organization. The volunteer will create a design for the theme we will tell and present it to the board. When the board agrees on the product, the volunteer will teach the members how to make it. The volunteer will also work in the production and the marketing processes of the product.

The volunteer will organise his/her cultural evening during the activity. In the cultural evening, the volunteer will introduce the food, drinks, music, dance, history, geography, habits, traditions, etc. of his/her region to the audience we will invite.

Sinopale is an International Biennial and its artistic and cultural projects/Mid-Performances. We held the previous biennial (the 7th edition) in 2019 summer. We will hold the next biennial (the 8th edition) in 2021 summer for two months. The rest of the year Sinopale plans exhibitions, workshops and performances, etc in frequent periods. For Sinopale, we have hosted more than 250 artists and 20 curators from all over the world. They perform traditional and contemporary art in Sinop in order to build bridges between culture and art and to create a reflection on current issues and traces of history. We also develop projects to empower sustainable development in social, cultural, and artistic fields.

What makes Sinopale different from the other biennials is that the artists create their work through the local sources and local people in Sinop. We name it “sharing model”. For more information, you can have a look at here: http://sinopale.org/

Condições: The volunteer will share a flat with the other volunteers but have his/her own room. They will walk to the working place called “Hal”. It takes 20 mins max or they can take the public bus. It is around 50 cents. They will get 4 Euros per day for pocket money (30 x 4 = 120 Euros per month) and 130 Euros for food per month. So altogether the volunteer will have 250 Euros per month. The volunteer will be reimbursed for their flight up to the maximum amount according to the distance of their home country in the ESC Program guide. The volunteer will not pay for their accommodation, wi-fi, electricity, water and gas but they have to use use them neatly and economically in the flat. We kindly ask them not to forget the lights on and water running when leaving the house. Because the electricity is not cheap in Turkey, neither is the public water.

The volunteer will live in a furnished flat with the other volunteers who are here for the other project activities. The volunteer will have her/his own room but share the kitchen and bathroom. There is furniture, wi-fi, hot water, kitchen tools, iron etc. There are bed sheets as well. But there is no hair dryer and towels.
