Resumo: The project is addressed to people with disability due to encephalic concussion or with disabling neurological pathologies. The hosted users are about 17, most of which use wheelchairs or have difficulties of movement. The centre is a copy shop. The main activities where the users are employed are PC data entry, text typing, simple graphical works, photocopies, binding and pasteboard works. There are also daily convivial activities like coffee break and lunch time. During the coffee break, for example, through newspapers reading and other activities, the operators and the users confront each other and talk about different issues. The project will also organize trips suggested by the operators according to the demands of service users.
Perfil: age between 18-30 years old
should be interested and predisposed in working with people with disability
likes to work in team but also able to take his/her own initiatives.
should be responsible, creative, curious, open-minded.
Good manual ability is welcomed.
Tarefas: The volunteer will be involved in the following activities
Work with disabled people, supporting operators and educators in the service management
going with the operators in the transportation service
helping the work of users (PC data entry, text typing, graphical works, binding and pasteboard works)
Beside this, volunteer, in cooperation with the other EVS volunteers, will be involved in addictional activities and their tasks will be:
to take part in the language conversation group with local young people and citizens
to participate in the meetings on the topic of the abroad mobility
to open and keeps a blog about EVS
