Resumo: The hosting organization is the only Pan-European, wilderness and environmental advocacy non-profit organization with a dedicated multi-cultural and very experienced professional team of wilderness and wildlife specialists, nature conservationists, researchers and scientists, tourism experts, marketing and business professionals, legal advisors and wilderness advocates whose mission is to: identify, designate, steward and promote Europe's last wild rivers, old growth forests and wilderness. We perform audits to certify the following categories: WILDIslands, WILDRivers, WILDCoasts, WILDForests and Wilderness.

We are dedicated to the education of the next generation of Europeans on wilderness, usually together with protected areas, for which a knowledge transfer program between international managers, students, pupils with wilderness and protected areas has been initiated.

We also promote wilderness as well as our supporters by an extensive communication strategy including weekly newsletters, a journal, a vivid presence on social media, and a one-stop-shopping for information website. Our annual 3-day Wilderness Academy Days conference is well-known for its high standard presentations and field excursions.

Due to the professions of our team members, European Wilderness Society carries out services and tasks like certifications and zoning, Eco-tourism, marketing, training on communication techniques, Wild Arts, training on Large Carnivores, climate change, biodiversity, natural experience, Large Carnivore return, education and training conferences, and financial advice in conservation sector.

But since nature and wilderness is not comprehensible without the contradiction of civilization, and finally all of us, the people of Europe decide when and where wilderness (again) arises, whether we do something about climate change for example. Therefore we emphasize our efforts on training programs for kindergarten pupils, school children and Protected Area Managers. Especially with Wild Arts we want to bring nature and wilderness closer to people who are unable to experience wilderness in person for financial or health reasons.

By being involved in the European Voluntary Service, the European Wilderness Society aims to create, provide and support a place where volunteers and partner-organizations, that share a passion for the wild-side of nature, can connect, learn and share wilderness-experiences.

Perfil: We look for a volunteer, 18-30 years old, with team spirit and enthusiasm for nature! First, find your supporting organisation in the database, preferably close to where you live. Get their confirmation to become support you as supporting organisation. Tarefas: We are looking for a wilderness dedicated person, between 18 and 30 years old, who is willing to express their personal commitment towards wilderness through a full-time voluntary service for a duration of 12 months. You will work with us from our main office, beautifully located in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. You will enjoy flexible working hours and with high self-responsibility in a family-friendly working environment of an idealistic, social, international, dynamic team. You will be part of regular know-how transfer in an international network of experts as a personal training.
