Resumo: Public institution Independent kindergarten „Nendrė“ was established in the year 1998 in close co-operation with The Aland Islands Peace Assocciation-Emmaus and The Aland Islands Peace Institute. Families of single mothers residing in "Šnipiškės" micro district (one of the most poor in Vilnius) were chosen as a target group for „Nendrė“. In course of transition to market economy, these families became the weakest social group in the economical aspect. The risk to turn into dead-end kids or to get into state institutions arose for children and the risk of greater poverty accompanied by slough arose for their mothers. Seeking to support an integration of such families to the community and labour market as well as to ensure a welfare of children growing in them, „Nendrė“ renders complex social services. Independent kindergarten „Nendrė“ tries to keep close relations with the population of "Šnipiškės" micro district, invites them to various cultural events, yard feasts and information lectures. Various actions are arranged in the micro district . annually: for example, the cleanness action in spring and the kindness action before Christmas became traditional. Schoolchildren from „Nendrė“ Day-time center care about single old persons in "Šnipiškės" micro district, help them in housekeeping works.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for a young person who would like to spend time with children coming from various backgrounds. We also look for a person who is motivated, talkative, energetic, creative, outgoing, openminded, wouldn't be afraid of challenges and the most important POSITIVE.

Tarefas: - Assistance for educators during lessons
- Playing and initiating games/ workshops/ events with/for children
- Assistance in the canteen for kindergarten staff during children eating time (serving food for kids helping to clean and tidy around the kindergarten’s environment)
- Helping to organize events/ workshops for kindergarten community (parents/teachers)
- Helping to organize the classroom for teachers
- Joining and assisting educators during the children excursions/camps - Initiating cultural awareness activities for children
- Each month writing volunteer blog (minimum one article per month) - Initiate personal projects

Condições: Travel costs: 275 Eur
Pocket money: 4 Eur/day
Food allowance: 150 Eur
Living place: each volunteer will have a private room in the dorm or shared flat (with Lithuanians or other volunteers).
Transport: Monthly Vilnius bus card
