Resumo: The hosting organization has two main activities: it has a nursing home for mentally disabled people and a workshop which provides art and work therapy for disabled people. The organization is situated in a small town located some 50 kilometers away from the city.
Perfil: 1. interested in arts&crafts, especially in textile work,
2. motivated to work with people with special needs
3. ready to live in the Southern Finland in a small town for 12 months
4. from an EU country or doesn’t need a residence permit for Finland.
5. age: 18-30
Tarefas: The volunteers help disabled people in their daily activities at the arts&crafts workshop and at the home. The work includes both artistic work and practical personal assisting (for example with eating and daily hygiene).The volunteers need to have interest in creative arts&crafts (mainly textile) work as well as motivation to work with people with special needs. The tasks don't demand any previous experience, the most important matter is the motivation to assist them.
Condições: The volunteer will live in an apartment , other volunteer is a 18-year-old girl from Germany.
