Resumo: The Association People with Disabilities was incorporated on March 23, 1979, the date on which takes effect their Statutes. Since then up he now, the organization has worked with a basic and fundamental objective which all others are based, asis the integration and normalization of life of people whatever their disability.

The objectives of the association are:
-Canalize the views and needs of its members, on the following topics:
. Social and labour integration
Mentalization on social issues of people with disabilities
. Enforce the legislation on disabilities
. Collective participation in the different spheres of the administrations
. Participation in the prevention and rehabilitation plans deficiencies
. Removal of architectural barriers
- Training and information about disabilities
-Collaboration with public institutions for the attainment of its objectives.

Some of the activities that we perform in the association are:
- Rehabilitation in gym
-Occupational center
-Adapted transport
-Leisure and free time activities
-Days of summer holidays for people with disabilities

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The tasks to be developed by the volunteer will be to support activities organized by the daycare centre in favour of disabled people. His/her voluntary tasks will normally last 6 hours a day. He/she will usually work in a daycare centre for disabled people from Mondays to Fridays. Anyway, he/she may be asked to participate in activities during the weekends or out of his/her regular timetable. He/she will always have the opportunity to accept or not to participate in these other activities. He/she will also be given the opportunity to participate in trainings, courses, activities or other events of her/his interest organized by the hosting organization or by another organization.
Whenever the volunteer takes part in activities during the weekend, the organization hereby guarantees that he will benefit from ONE free days chosen from the same week by the volunteer.

Meals for the volunteer include breakfast and lunch . He/she will take her/his meals in the centres where he/she will collaborate and in the flat where he/she will live. If the volunteer needs a special diet there is no inconvenience in adapt his meals to what he/she wants and needs. He/she will be given a monthly amount to buy goods and prepare his/her own meals in the flat where he/she will live.

Lodging for the volunteer will be in a shared flat . This flat will have at least a kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom for him. So, the volunteer will have his/her own room. The organization will pay directly to the volunteer the expenses of lodging,, water, electricity and gas supplies (until a reasonable limit) and any other payment related to the flat. The land telephone and Internet costs of flat will also be paid by the organization.
The mentor for the volunteer is part of the staff (She holds a degree in Spanish Language). The mentor will be available whenever the volunteer needs her, in case of need or emergency. At least once a week there will be a meeting between the mentor and the volunteer when they will talk about the ESC, suggestions, advices, assessment, needs, etc.

There will be a specific monitoring of the Spanish lessons and the adaptation to lodging, tasks and the environment of the volunteer. Moreover a monitoring by phone of even in presence will be establihed if it is necessary.
