Resumo: With this European Solidarity Corps project, we want to provide opportunities for young European volunteers to explore solidarity and inclusion through volunteering in the Finnish work communities with people with disabilities or young people with fewer opportunities. The three main demands in the contemporary Europe, which strive us to carry out this project are:
1) Youth unemployment and the threat of social exclusion and alienation of groups of young people, especially in the Southern European countries,
2) Strengthening the equality and inclusion of the people with special needs to support their equal rights of participation in their societies,
3) Racism, xenophobia, hate-speech and negative attitudes towards the foreigners or refugees in Europe. We are aiming at tackling these huge challenges on a micro-scale, step by step and building bridges of awareness through personal encounters between the volunteers from different countries and backgrounds and people with special needs. We expect that this volunteering project will be an empowering learning experience, not only for the participants, but for all the partners included. Our objective is, that the learning on individual level will also boost positive processes in the societies, so that the young people would have better future prospects and there would be more equal opportunities for all.

Perfil: We will focus on including especially participants with fewer opportunities, especially young people, who are unemployed or under the threat of being socially excluded in their societies. Applicants with the fewer opportunities will have priority and we are hoping to reach them through you.
Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The volunteers will participate in the daily activities of these four communities for the period of 10 to 12 months. They will support the staff in the daily activities and organize activities for the people with special needs or for the children.
