Resumo: The project is a need to facilitate access to European culture in general, especially for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

One of the aims of the project is to develop the organizational skills of "Youth Initiative Center" NGO, share their experience and give practical advice on helping them to develop their own EVS projects by means of establishing long-term cooperation with the EU partners.

Tarefas: 1. The volunteers will work in a Youth Initiative Centre NGO.

2. Their daily activities will revolve around the theme of cultural exchange and raising awareness about the different cultural dimensions of Europe and their own country. He/she will prepare and conduct activities with local youth – the target group aged between approx. 12 and 25 years. The target group will also include local youth from Schools.

3. prepare activities targeting the general public and aimed at promoting European and their own culture and language – by means of coordinating language and cultural clubs open to the public, organizing a language club, preparing a film or music and dance festival etc.

4. promoting volunteerism as a form of youth activity and empowerment in Armenia

Horário: The weekly schedule of the volunteer will be flexible. On average, the volunteer will work about 5-6 hours per day, five days a week. Based on the needs of the volunteer and the hosting organization, both parties will arrange the timing for holidays for the volunteer. The hosting organization will be flexible regarding the needs of the volunteer to have free time, but it will also expect that the volunteer will be flexible regarding the working time. Saturday – Sunday - Days off

If YIC will plan activities to do over the week-end it will be at the volunteer’s discretion to participate or not.

Formação: Language Course:
In terms of Service and learning opportunities, YIC offers the volunteers Armenian Language courses during the whole period of the project.
YIC has an Armenian teacher who is very experienced in non-formal education and we are now working on an Armenian language book made especially for the foreign volunteers.
The volunteer will get Armenian Language course 2 times per week during the whole duration of the project.

Trainings and Support:
The volunteer will be introduced the hosting organization and the school and university, staff and structure and working process. The volunteer will have a mentor who will support him during the whole project and the volunteer will get the support of the whole YIC staff.
