Resumo: The principal aim of the association Officina Creativa Interculturale is to spread the intercultural dialogue and multilinguism in the city of Palermo, among children and adults, teachers and families. Our educative centre Casa-Officina is a place where the local community can exchange and share experiences. At Casa-Officina, Italian and foreign people can meet each other and compare their cultures, languages, lifestyles and everyday lives.

The association promotes the different languages and cultures of the world, especially through the first multilingual library for children in Palermo. The books collected are thousands, written in more than 45 different languages. Since 2013, it has been opened, in collaboration with the association La piccola Officina, a multicultural kindergarten with children between 18 months and 5 years old from different Countries. Children are everyday involved in educative regular activities, from Monday to Saturday, from 7.30 to 16. The other activities, in collaboration with schools and organizations, are creative workshops and language courses for children, young people and adults and multicultural events, involving people from many countries, especially immigrated people.

Since 2010, the association has organized training courses aimed at promoting different languages and cultures and multicultural education, through artistic and non-verbal methods and storytelling techniques, involving youth workers, teachers and educators. Since 2016, the association has been promoting artistic activities to fight against the educational poverty, especially with families and children (0-6 years old).

Tarefas: Officina Creativa Interculturale association offers non-formal learning opportunities inspired by the intercultural
dialogue and multilingual experiences. The principal aim will be to promote the personal and social growth,
valorising the active participation, the European awareness, relationships with local young people and families.
Volunteers will be involved in the work of the staff, within local experiences involving local community.

In the educative centre, the volunteers role will be to participate, assist educators and propose the following
activities:
- Kindergarten/playroom with children from 2 years old;
- reading books and story-telling in their original language and bilingual books;
- workshop about Erasmus Plus programme and EVS experience for youngsters and students;
- participation to projects to promote educative activities for children;
- documentation, production, collection and distribution of materials on intercultural issues;
- artistic events and activities with the local community.

Condições: The volunteers will attend an Italian online language course;
Each volunteer will be involved in activities 7 hours a day, for 5 days a week. There will be 2 days-off a month: the volunteer can choose to collect them for a longer holyday.

ACCOMODATION
The volunteers will be hosted in an apartment with other young people, near to the centre of Palermo and to the
association. All the costs related to the rent and utilities (WiFi included) are covered by the Hosting Organization.

FOOD
Each volunteer will receive 135€/a month for food.

POCKET MONEY
Each volunteer will receive 150€/a month as pocket money.

TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT: The participants' travel costs will be fully covered within
the limits approved by the project (The travel fees are calculated according to the official rules for the
Erasmus+ program).
Please, note that the travel expenses should be documented in the form of the official tickets, boarding
passes, invoices, receipts, etc. The stated costs will be reimbursed within the stated limits. The excess travel
cost shall be paid by the participant himself/herself. The travel costs will be reimbursed only upon the
presentation of all original (including return) tickets, receipts/invoices and boarding passes. The participants
are requested to use the means of public transport (such as bus, metro, tram) for the local transportation,
and the economy class for the flights. Please keep the boarding passes from your airport check-in as well.
Reimbursement will be done in EURO, regardless of the currency indicated on your ticket and receipt/invoice.
The participants should arrive from the country they applied for the project.

Maximum Reimbursement Limit per person 275 Euros
