Resumo: Since 2011 De wissel owns a farm located in Rural area. This place is called Centrum Molenmoes and it is hosting different kind of projects:

The day centre Rizsas
Taking care of youngsters between 12-18 yrs old (mainly around 16yrs) that for some reasons (family problems, drugs, agression, lack of motivation, …) are not able to attend school. They attend Rizsas project Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9 till 16h. Rizsas works participative with the youngsters. So as a group they divide taks and generate activities together. Activities they do in the day are very diverse: shopping for lunch, cooking, artwork, music, crea, watching movie, ping pong,… They can also take part in the activities from the other projects on Centrum Molenmoes. In Rizsas are working 3 social workerand sutdents doing internship.

from 2011 the project Stretch-it (rope course activities)
Stretch-it organises every Tuesday an open workshop for youngsters from Rizsas, but also youngsters from other project. During this workshop they can take challenges, do teambuilding or learn some technical aspects about ropes. Stretch-it also has teambuildings for outside groups (schools, company’s,…) and does support for family therapy.In De wissel are 4 people trained as a rope rescuer.
since 2013 Equicanis(horse project).
Each day they take care of the horses, train them, caress them. This morning is attended by youngsters that need some time out and the youngsters from Rizsas can also choose to attend the day care. In the afternoon Equicanis has some individual therapy by hippotherapy.
Besides these bigger projects on the centre we have the open space where can happen any kind of activity when agreed on the Molenmoes council. These activities are mainly done by volunteers according tot heir passions. At the moment we have: Garden club, soepteam, Bike project, creaclub, tipitalk,…

In the centre we try to maintain the environment in a creativeand ecological way. A garden was developped in 2012 by the principles of permaculture, a pool was rehabilitated to be a more interesting place, a baking oven was build to bake bread.Ecology is no tour main target, but by small interactions we try to make youngsters and other people on centrum Molenmoes aware of this.
Centrum Molenmoes is hostingvolunteers in different areas: in the day centre Rizsas, in the horse project Equicanis and in the gardenclub. Depending on the capacities and interests of the volunteer he can also take part in some of the other project going on.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for a volunteer with a certain passion that he can bring in in the centre: cooking, gardening, ecological topics, biking/ sports, … Creative volunteers that have ideas for projects, activities or have knowledge of certain issues that can give an extra dimension to the project are very welcome.
Besides that we are looking for a volunteer that is not scared of doing some practical work also outdoors: doing some transport, help to fix bikes, maintain the environment (weeding, mowing grass, …) , maintain materials. Being handy and creative in fixing thing is a great plus.

As a volunteer you have not always direct contact with the youngsters. It depends from year to year
if youngsters show interest in the actions you are doing. Each volunteer searches his/her own way to
get interaction with the youngsters. Some things need to be done to maintain the place and on theother hand there is
freedom to find way to get the youngsters involved in the activities or have interaction with them.
The volunteer has the opportunity to develop an own project and experience personal growth in this experience.

As on the domain will be youngsters with difficult background, we want the volunteer to be aware of his influences to these youngsters. Able to deal with young adults and have social skills to communicate with these youngsters. Being open minded and flexible in this work are very welcome. As he/she is working in the surrounding of youngsters with difficulties, he/she has to understand that all kind of problems he/she gets to know from the youngsters are private and not to be communicated outside the project.
We expect an independence in the work where the volunteer learns to plan his work, takes initiative and can see work and take actions by him/herself.
The volunteer has to be willing to evolve to an independent way of living in the community. There won’t be all the time a mentor to take care of cooking, going somewhere,…

Tarefas: - practical support: driver, going to the shop (once you are comfortable in this)
- Help in the bike project – possibility to organise bike activities
- take care of the environment: repairs things, clean up spaces, collect woods, cut the grass, gardening, …
- help and/or coordinate volunteer teams who come to the centre for helping
- Being a support in welcoming groups (ad hoc questions)
- make sure the space is clean before and afterwards
- prepare some food/a soup for the group

The workdays are from Monday to Friday from 9 till 16h. Also language lessons or support are arranged in this time.

Condições: Food:
The volunteer has to organise him/herself for breakfast and dinner with the budget he/she will get from the project. He/She will get a budget each month for the rest of the food expenses. Lunch will be taken together in the centre on working days.

Accommodation:
The volunteer will have a room that he/she can lock with a key. Bathroom and kitchen are in common with other volunteers. There is an internet connection which can be used.
The volunteer lives on the centre.

Holidays:
The volunteer has the right to take holiday. He/She should mention this in advance on a staffmeeting so we can arrange it in the schedule of tasks. If he/she wants to take a week off, he/she should discuss this in advance with the team. The volunteer has the right on vacation 2 days in the week (mostly weekend) and 25 extra days during the whole year.

Local Transport:
There will be a bike for the volunteer to go to the shop, the bus or train station. There is a bus
passing every hour at 2km from the house.

The volunteer will get an bus pass to travel by bus in whole Flanders and a train cards for excursions.

Language training: The organisations provides support in the language by a teacher or subscription in a school nearby. He / She will have the opportunity to have Dutch classes
