Resumo: The volunteers will work in the Youth Information Center and also in other departments of the Municipality of Kordelio-Evosmos.
We place a lot of importance on the intergration of the volunteers within the local community.
Ôhe volunteers have the opportunity to participate for free in training courses and athletic activities provited by the Municipality. They also can participate in informal groups (graffiti, shadow theater, etc) organized by the Youth Information Center of Evosmos, thus, the volunteers are easily intergated in the local community..
Our aim is that the volunteers and local populations became aware of the importance of the European programs.

The Youth Information Center of Evosmos is an accredited host and sending organization since 2001.
We host two volunteers every six months.
The volunteer's activities take place within the framework of the Social policy department of the Municipality of Kordelio-Evosmos, which aims to combat prejudice and racism, to support people who are threatened by social exclusion, and to support addicted persons and encourage their integration into society. Those aims are achieved by providing information and sensitizing local populations, and in particular, young people. The participation of volunteers in this activities is an important part of the project in our organization.

he Youth Information Center of Evosmos, has two main objectives:
1. Informing the youth of Evosmos and Kordelio.
2. Promoting the socializing process among the youth of Evosmos and Kordelio.
The activities used to achieve the above goals are the following:
1. Informational excursions in high schools and places where festivals, concerts, and other such activities aimed towards young people take place (in co-operation with the Municipal Youth Council and the association of former EVS volunteers of Thessaloniki).
2. Art Exhibits (in co-operation with young artists, groups of young people from schools of the municipality of Kordelio-Evosmos, and other volunteer groups from Thessaloniki).
3. Events for children (puppet shows in co-operation with professionals and youth groups that participate in other volunteer organizations of Thessaloniki).
A number of other activities take place in the building of the Youth Information Center in the framework of the Municipal Youth Council, such as graffiti groups, internet groups, European Exchange Programs' groups and others.
Young people who visit the Youth Information Center also get the chance to have instant access to the internet and get help in surfing and searching.
The Youth Information Center places a lot of importance in informing and encouraging youths to participate in all of the above activities. Also, heavy importance is placed on young people less fortunate than others, or with adjustment problems due to language difficulty, different cultures, and social circumstances.

Perfil: The volunteer should be willing to work with young people. She/he should be flexible and able to work in a team. A basic knowledge of Greek language will be helpful but not absolutely necessary. Interest of using computer as a tool for work (MS Office, Internet) is necessary for the volunteer.
To publicize the vacant EVS placement, we send emails to other European Associations, and upload the vacancies on various networks, such as www.youthnetworks.eu and Eurodesk.
The volunteer is selected according to different points : the curriculum vitae, the letter of motivation, but especially the answers of the questions about her/his project.
The openness and transparency of the recruitment process is ensured by several meetings between the members of the association to choose the best candidate.
To match the activity with the volunteers' profile and interest, we ask different questions like : "What are your expectations of working in our youth information center?" or " What kind of project do you want to do?" to better understand the motivation of the volunteer.
The volunteer must like working with young people, because we are a youth information center. She/He can not substitute a job in this center because there is a competent worker for each task.
