Resumo: The coordinating organization is a non-profit organisation based on the Christian values providing services in fields of social work, health and education in the area of Moravian-Silesian and South Moravian regions. The organization´s services are mainly focused on people with disabilities, the elderly, the homeless, children and young people, members of minority groups and others who have become caught in various difficult situations of life. In 2014, SD incorporated more than 60 homes and centres with 104 registered social services carried out by more than 600 employees. These services were provided to almost 8000 users.
Target group of this project: Families and children indifficult social situations and children and pupils with socioeconomically disadvantaged and culturally different background
Perfil: Age: 18-30
It is important to not afraid to work alone or in a collective. It is helpful if you are creative, if you like to work with children, if you can listen to children – it is important to learn the Czech language quickly.
Tarefas: We are focusing on work with families and children who are going through certain difficulties in their lives. The ‘We are not alone’ project is focused on activities which allow parents in unfavourable social condition and their children to spend their time in a purposeful way. The project aims to support interpersonal relations, the personal development of children within safe environment, develop parental care and support the prevention against further deterioration of the family’s social condition. The mission is to support children in their preparation for schooling. The project focuses on activities supporting quality education of children and pupils with socioeconomically disadvantaged and culturally different backgrounds. Activities such as puzzles, cubes, board games, storytelling, rhymes, fairy tales, drawing, colouring books, paper cut outs, ball games, rope skipping, preparation of meals, money management, communication with children, hygiene habits.
Challenges
The volunteer should be creative, able of elementary multitasking and open to our wide target group (children, parents and grand-parents). Helping children with preparation for school and supporting them in practicing subject matter and reinforcing knowledge. Helping with the organisation of workshops for parents and trips.
