Resumo: The hosting organization was born in 1985 at the initiative of volunteers and parents of people with disabilities eager to support the latter and effectively respond to their needs. Since the very beginning it was providing common support services to people with disabilities, but from 2000 it has radically changed its approach introducing innovative methods into the Cooperative practice and widening the range of services provided.

Currently the organization is an active social enterprise working in partnership with National Public Health System reaching around 250 families in its daily work, and aimed at helping mentally and physically disabled people through educational and rehabilitation assistance. It has 50 workers including educators, social workers, psychologists and a large group of volunteers who support it. The overall objective of the organization is a promotion of human development and social integration ensuring each person is able to exercise his/her rights avoiding exclusion, fostering tolerance and understanding, contributing to well-being and cohesion of the community. It becomes possible engaging with public and private actors of the territory, aspiring solidarity and raising awareness on the importance of integration and support to rehabilitation to people in need

Perfil: Age between 18 and 30 years old
The motivation to spend time in a foreign country (Italy) and interest in the project proposed Interest in the work carried out by our Cooperative and in social work in general
The capacity and motivation to develop relationships with people in need (disadvantaged children, youth and elderly)
The predisposition to relate to others, to listen and to act in a group (also considering they will be required to learn and speak Italian).

Tarefas: The volunteers will have the opportunity to work across different facilities:

CENTRE FOR JOB TRAINING. It targets people with medium to heavy psycho- physical disabilities or mental disorders who are assisted to maintain or develop their occupational and relational capacities, to construct their social identity and therefore giving them greater personal autonomy.

DAILY CENTER 1 - It hosts users with comorbidity of disabilities and psychological disorders as well as elderly people with various levels of self-sufficiency.

DAILY CENTER 2 - It hosts people with intellectual, sensorial and physical disabilities with various level of self-sufficiency.

DAILY CENTRE 3 - It hosts people with autism and major behavioural disturbances 1 The volunteer will have the opportunity to spend some time in all the different centers to get acquainted with all the dynamics and type of users.
