In October 2014 we are opening a sensory integration therapy room for the children with developmental difficulties. Our team consists of a pediatrician, physiotherapist, psychologist and montessori teachers. Our centre's got a gym properly equipped for children and adults, where we practice children gymnastics and different martial arts, such as aikido.
Main aim of the organisation is to bring out childrens' hidden abilities and develop skills of self-grow on the basis of prepared Montessori environment. Our primary aim is to assist in the total development of a child’s personality (social, emotional, intellectual, physical, etc.), so the child will be better prepared to adapt to life and adjust to the changing conditions of the environment.

Tarefas: Children stay in our centre from 8 am till 5 pm every day from Monday to Friday. We would like to involve volunteer in activities with the group of children aged 3-6 year. There are about 10–20 children in this group.
The main aim of the EVS project is to provide the children with first experience in intercultural and foreign language communication, which is considered important aspect of children general education. It should also be borne in mind that a few years later our children will become active citizens of Estonia and EU and their language skills are going to play important role. Another aim of the project is to develop practical implementation of “Montessori integration method”, which is a part of children developmental programme of Montessori centre. The project will also positively influence the staff of Montessori centre and parents. For volunteers it will be a wonderful opportunity to get an international experience in social-pedagogic work with children and get an insight into Montessori method.
Moreover, the experience of living abroad, in a new environment, will develop volunteer's social skills and self-reliance. Not less important, that participation in such project gives a volunteer a unique opportunity to realize his/her own initiative and launch his/her own project in the field of culture or youth work. During his/her EVS a volunteer will learn how to create Montessori environment, master Estonian or Russian language, get to know more about Estonian culture and get experience of work with children as well as broaden his/her horizon.
The project will encompass around 20 children from 2 groups (3-4 and 4-6 years old).
Intercultural and foreign language learning will be integrated into everyday activities of the children, such as art, music lessons, creative lessons, sport exercises, quizzes, theatre and other performances. Joint work with the staff, direct contact with parents plays an important role in the project.
The volunteer will help the staff:
• in daily child care (20%);
• to prepare (choose and design materials) and lead montessori lessons, quizes and other
activities for th children (30%);
• to play with children (20%);
• during trips, picnics, hobby activities etc. (10%);
• to present his/her country, its culture, language an traditions as a part of intercultural learning
(10%);
• in all other activities when help is needed (10%).
In order to foster intercultural learning we would like the volunteer to present his/her country and culture through songs, games and other activities meant not only for children but also for their parents and the staff.
Additional task for the volunteer might be creating a contact with a similar Montessori school in his/her country so to develop a mutually beneficial collaboration for the future.
Project coordinator and the staff of Montessori centre will compose a detailed work schedule with tasks according to the volunteer's skills and interests. The volunteer will have 2 days-off in weekends
