Horário: Official working hours of the O.A.ZA.’s office are Monday‐Friday, 9 am‐5 pm. However, due to the participation in different events, working hours can vary and include work in the late afternoon/evening (5 pm‐9 pm). You will be working 6 hours per day, most of the days in the schools. At the beginning of each week, we will let you know about the weekly schedule.
Condições: ACCOMMODATION
You will be accommodated in a hostel. It is a quiet, dog‐friendly place and you can expect other guests there as well.
The rooms and bathrooms may be shared between 4 to 6 other volunteers. There is a fully equipped kitchen, common space, and Wi‐Fi. Once a week you can use the washing machine in the hostel. The rooms in the hostel cannot be used for organizing parties and you will have to respect the house rules. However, the hostel is close enough to the city centre if you wish to enjoy the nightlife.
You will be responsible for cleaning your rooms and keeping the kitchen and bathroom tidy after you use it. The bathrooms and the common spaces are cleaned by the hostel staff. You should also take proper care of the space, furniture, and equipment and in case something is broken due to improper care, you will have to replace it with your own means.
FOOD
During the project, you will be provided with one fresh vegetarian meal on weekdays (lactovegetarian
meaning no meat, no fish, and no eggs) – in other words, lunch will be provided for you to help you with the vegetarian challenge which is an important part of the project.
The meals will be prepared by an experienced vegetarian cook. We encourage you to try the vegetarian challenge and go vegetarian during your stay in order to see what benefits it can bring to you.
Promoting vegetarianism is important to the organization for two reasons – sustainability and nonviolence.
Excessive consumption of meat in modern societies has a big negative ecological footprint. We also insist on alternative food habits grounded in nonviolence, compassion, and care for other beings which, we believe, make us better humans.
FINANCE
You will receive monthly pocket money of 120€ (approximately 900 Croatian kuna) and also 90€ (around 650 kuna) to cover the food expenses (breakfast, dinner, and weekends). The return journey
will be reimbursed according to Erasmus+ limits. Further details will be sent after selection.
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
Monthly transportation cards will be given to you so that you can have unlimited free use of the city trams and buses in Zagreb.
