Resumo: The youth center/open point for children and youth is open-minded, open for all religions and without prejudice towards anyone. The organization is situated in an area in Leipzig which shows a high percentage of unemployment and immigrants. There are many social projects for the inhabitants of the district. Those projects are done with the purpose of creating a life worth living for all inhabitants.

The OFT Rabet is an open youth meeting point where young people design there leisure time supported by the staff. Apart from games, sports and music job orientation and learning to lead a self-sustained life are important topics of the work with the youths.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The volunteer support the youths and the staff designing and carrying through leisure activities on a daily base as well as special projects which have a longer duration. The volunteer shall bring aspects of his or her own country into the work, e.g. music, games, sports, language, cooking or handicraft. Usually we start working at 13:00 pm but because of a big variety of networking and projectwork in the district, there are some appointments in the morning. At 19:45 pm we say goodbye to all our guests and users and sum up the day´s work.

We discuss our schedule once in a week, different projects take place at the weekend. In addition, there will be realised several project days towards topics of solidarity in europe / participation / social projects for all EVS volunteers. The volunteers have to take part, learn and to realise an own social idea. They should also inform about social project in their homecountry and present it to the others.

Furthermore, volunteers are asked to make a presentation about his/her EVS and / or other mobility possibilities in Europe in a school class.
