Resumo: The Beneficial community was founded in 1991 by a parent initiative. It is accredited as a non-profit supporting association. The Beneficial community wants to support and cultivate the school and pre-school pedagogical work grounded by Maria Montessori, and also to set it up and lead it in their own institutions.
Institutions belonging to the Beneficial community - the school (since the foundation in 1991), the Children house (since the foundation and opening of the first integrated class in 1997), the day nursery ( since 2006) and the specialised secondary school (since 2007).
Main concern of the school for everyone is the integration of children with disabilities.
"The way ,in which the weak ones strengthen themselves, is the same way, in which the strong ones improve themselves. "(Maria Montessori). Since 1997/1998 the Montessori school has been cooperating with the Christophporus school in Wuerzburg, a school for "life skills". Twelve children from an external class are placed in different classrooms of the Montessori school. There are the subjects taught for all children together , by the team of special pedagogues from the Christophorus school and teachers from the Montessori school.

Tarefas: The time has shown as well how good the different personalities of volunteers with their different competencies and interests were integrated into the community with children. Also the previous volunteers could have gained various experiences. In many cases they started first in the school to find out their pedagogical competencies, they learnt to realize their talents, to use them and to develop selective offers for kids.
They experienced and learnt a lot about Germany, German culture, standards, values and pedagogy. They got a chance to learn and to manage dealing with children with disabilities.
The team from the Montessori school consists of 45 people (teachers, specialized teachers, free-time pedagogues). As it is quite difficult for the volunteer, especially in the beginning, to orient his self in such a big team, she will be assigned to one teacher and to a classroom, where she is going to work with. Moreover she will be in the closer contact with a language teacher who also overtakes a role of a tutor in his project.
The children and youngsters work mainly in the form of a free-activity, which means that they chose different materials and try to make up with then various tasks and things. The teachers have roles of tutors, they support the children and give them help when needed. The volunteer has the chance to get to know the materials and pedagogy of the Montessori school, she can practice different things and exercises with a single kid or with a small group.
Therefore the volunteer has enough free room for developing and offering his own ideas, projects. Especially she will be supported by the language teacher as it is seen as an opportunity for children for example to get their interests for language and improve their English skills (English as an important communicative language in Europe).
Some of the activities which were run by volunteers- cooking and baking workshops with dishes from volunteers´home, role plays and theater in English and French, make music with the pupils, traditional dances from the home countries of volunteers, conversation workshops in English and in French, volunteers accompanied small groups of children during school- exchanges in Europe.
Moreover due to the stay of volunteer the pupils and the team should develop an interest for Europe, its policy and opportunities.
