Resumo: The center counts with two main entities: Escola de Tempo Libre e Animación Sociocultural, it is focused in training activities in the social field and leisure time, and Centro Xuvenil, that has a full and global offer of activities, which its main target is to educate in values through the leisure time to children and youngsters of the neighbourhood, the city and closer areas.

Furthermore since 2000 the Escola de Tempo Libre is a receiving, sending and coordinating organisation for EVS and Voluntary Projects of the European Solidarity Corps.

The most common activities carried out in the Centro for children and youth from the neighbourhood are: play room, school support, library, crafts, leisure time groups for children and youngsters, magosto, Christmas activities, carnival, Youth centre’s feasts, neighbourhood’s feast, urban summer camp for children, information office and voluntary and youth counselling, diffusion activities for the Erasmus+ Programme and European Solidarity Corps, …,

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The volunteer will collaborate with the staff and other volunteers, contributing own initiatives and resources of own culture, in:

- Preparation, animation and evaluation of the socio educational project in the play-room (Espacio Lúdico) for children from 4 to 14 years: games, handicrafts, workshops, outdoor activities, sports, trips to the town...
- Preparation, animation and evaluation for the school support programme (Apoio Escolar) for children from 5 to 18 years old: help with homework, help on foreign languages, help to study,…
- Maintenance and animation of workshops that are realised for people from the centre: theatre, language, guitar, handicrafts...
- Animation of other activities of the Centre: Carnival, May patron festivities, excursions, traditional feasts (maios)...
- Preparation, Animation and evaluation of educational projects in an awareness campaign for schools: reading promotion, environmental, equality…
Cooperation in the Solidarity campaigns: Operación Quilo (food recompilation campaign), Carreira Solidaria (Solidarity race), Suriya project, O teu tapón conta (recycle campaign),…
- Animation of Christmas, Carnival and Easter activities for children from 4 to 14 years
- Animation of summer activities in end of June, July and August for children from 4 to 14 years: urban camp...
- Planning and evaluation of activities, contributing own initiatives: preparation of the material, search of resources...
- Maintenance, order and cleanness of the different rooms.
- Animation of the informative point for volunteers and associations: updating and distribution of information about courses, activities, subventions, seminars..., administration of the resources, etc.
- Animation of the Erasmus+ information point: updating and distribution of information about the different actions, doing Informative Campaigns about the Erasmus+ Program (distribution of flyers, talks, blog)...
- Help young people from Santiago to participate in the Erasmus+ (Youth Exchanges,...) and European Solidarity Corps: helping with the language, contributing ideas...
- Possibility animation of the children’s and youth library: help with homework, reading, lending books, activities to animate children to read...
- Possibility of instructor in Scout group for children and teenagers since 8 to 18 years during the weekend.
- Possibility of training of football or basketball teams for children, teenagers and youth from 5 to 30 years.
- Develop a personal project related with one of the activities of the Centre, adjusted to his preferences, abilities and capacities

Horário: The basic timetable will be about 25-30 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, depending on the Spanish classes and the planning meetings of the different activities in which the volunteer will participate.

In the beginning we focus more on language classes and observation and as progress are made classes decrease and work in organization increase. The timetable could be like that:

Monday- Friday

10.00 – 13.00 Spanish lessons, Information office, solidarity champagne, Erasmus+ and ESC dissemination, and other activities

17.00 – 20.30 Play-Room(Espacio Lúdico), handicrafts, School Support(Apoio Escolar), games, Library and other activities

In addition to this the volunteer will participate together with other volunteers in the programme and evaluation meetings concerning the activities she will be involved in.

During Christmas, Carnival, Easter, end of June, July and August the timetable will be adjusted according to the vacations and summer activities of the centre, working from Monday to Friday during the morning.

The volunteer will have two days-off a week, Saturday and Sunday, except the feasts that will coincide with their assistance.

Condições: The volunteer will live in a flat, sharing it with other volunteers or students, in a single or double room. Furthermore the flat provides all items necessary for living: a washing machine, heater, blankets, iron, dishes, etc.

The organisation will cover the expenses of the flat (rent, supplies,…)
