Resumo: The hosting organization is an elite, international technical university in Denmark. The hosting organization is recognized internationally as a leading university in the areas of the technical and the natural sciences, renowned for our business-oriented approach, our focus on sustainability, and our amazing study environment.
At the hosting organization, student services and administrative work are managed through the Department for Study Programmes and Student Affairs. This department administers everything from enrolment for both international and local students, to exams registration and execution, to the development of the learning environment for its students.
The department is divided into several Offices, one of which is the Office for International Affairs. This Office deals with sending local and international students on exchange, welcoming those coming to Denmark on exchange as well as full degree students, and arranges various orientation events for international and exchange students.
Perfil: The volunteer should have an interest in internationalisation and event management with the purpose to strengthening the integration of international and Danish students. The hosting organization does not discriminate based on religion, ethnicity or gender in any recruitment practices.
Age: 18-30
Tarefas: The volunteer will assist in developing and implementing current student services for international students. The volunteers will also work closely with the Orientation Coordinator to develop initiatives to better socially integrate Danish and International students with the goal of creating a common, inclusive and international identity for all Masters Students studying at the hosting organization.
This will include, but is not limited to, assisting in coordinating with the student union, PF MSc, responsible for organising two international events per semester. The volunteers will also be expected to assist in conducting or evaluating research on how to integrate domestic and International Students, including what issues need to be overcome. Furthermore, after such research has been conducted an operational implementation of initiatives will need to be formulated and executed. The volunteer will be expected to assist in promoting student mobility amongst Danish and International Students as well as assist in intercultural awareness rising of current students (MSc, International and Exchange students).
The volunteers in unison, will also act as the Coordinators for our volunteer corps ‘Electrons’ who will be the main staffing power for events and activities that are to be created. As Coordinators, they will be the glue that holds the Electrons together, making sure they are well respected and regarded, and rewarded for their efforts. Leadership ambition is a great advantage.
Condições: The ESC volunteer will stay with a local Danish host family and will be expected to become part of the family and as such take part in the activities and responsibilities in the family.
