Resumo: The foundation is a non-profit private and independent institution, the aim of which is to contribute with the integral development of the human being through the promotion of the cultural and educational initiatives, especially the ones which are orientated to the promotion of reading.

Our main projects and activities
- Permanent campaign of the promotion of Reading with hospitalized children in the Mother and Child Hospital. The project consists in the loan books to the hospitalized children.
- Spanish for immigrants. Personalized teaching of Spanish for adult immigrants residents. Free particular classes given by Spanish volunteers of our Foundation.
- Mini libraries. Intallation of small libraries in centers or public places where people can read, take or exchange books freely.
- International Cooperation “Books for the World”. Sending books to the various countries of Iberoamerica
- Journal Mi Biblioteca. Quarterly publication in paper form with national and international scope that proposes informative and rigorous approach to the multiple slopes of the library sector.
- Photo contest “Reading times”. The objective is the promotion of the plastic and artistic creativity in the scope of reading
- VG editions. Editorial stamp with the catalogue of the university textbooks, books about reading, Spanish for foreigners and infantile literature.

What we offer to our volunteers:
- Free Spanish language classes (Language and Culture), 1 ½ hours once or twice a week, given by a qualified volunteer, at an agreed time.
- Gain experience in useful skills for their professional future. The EVS provides skills and experiences, increases job possibilities and gives the chance of doing different works, so a choice is possible.
- Learn new skills. The EVS enables new challenges, know new people, new perspectives and ways of living which may encourage volunteers to reconsider their world perspectives.
- Secure and comfortable working environment, both in the hospital as in the Foundation; they both have all needed resources and both are secure.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We will just take in consideration responsible, motivated and passionate application forms!

Tarefas: - Volunteering in the Mother and Child Hospital, in the project “Get better with books”, Mondays and Thursdays, from 16:15 to 18:30. It consists in going to the children’s rooms of the children and lend them books. Volunteers will be accompanied and guided by the responsible for volunteering.
- Support and collaboration in the Program “Spanish for immigrants”. This takes place throughout the week. We need to have all material in order and support with all needs which may arise (of teachers or students).
Organization of digital and printed material (books, magazines, encyclopedias and varied documents which need classification (alphabetic or by subjects).
- In the project “Books for the World” we need to organize and classify and the books sent, as well as help with the packing and transport. We constantly receive donations and we have to select them according to their usage and organize them and classify them.
- Support with the regular update of the Foundation’s web site: management of e-mail, revision of texts and images of web-site, introduction of new contents and update of details.
- Collaboration with the project “Mini libraries”: selection and classification of donated books; elaboration of packs for the different libraries; setting up of mini-libraries; coordination, with the responsible people from the organization, to carry out monitoring of the use of the different mini-libraries.
Volunteers will constantly be accompanied by some staff member and receive guidance and support for the activities carried out.

TUESDAY

10-11:00: Answering emails, updating the information in social network. Planning of the daily tasks.

11:15-12:00: Meeting with the coordinator to plan the week and the objectives.
12:00-13:00: Administration of the “Spanish for Immigrants” and “Get better with books” projects (calling teachers and students, organization of the timetable)
13:00-14:00: Administration of economic partnership, subscriptions, customer’s service.
16:30-18:30: “Get better with books”
WEDNESDAY

10-11:00: Answering emails, updating the information in social network. Planning of the daily tasks.
11-11:15: Breakfast
11:15-12:00: Administration of economic partnership, subscriptions, customer’s service.
12:00-13:00: Organization and classification of books
13:00-14:00 : Going to the post office to send books and documents
16:30-18:30: Spanish language support
THURSDAY

11:15-12:00: Administration of the “Spanish for Immigrants” and “Get better with books” projects (calling teachers and students, organization of the timetable)
12:00-13:00: Preparation of books for the mini-librairies
13:00-14:00: Visit to the mini-librairies
16:30-18:30: “Get better with books”
FRIDAY

10-11:00: Answering emails, update the information in social network. Planning of the daily tasks.
11-11:15: Breakfast
11:15-12:00: Administration of the “Spanish for Immigrant” and “Get better with books” projects (calls to teachers and students, organization of the tame table)
12:00-13:00: Organization and classification of books
13:00-14:00: Putting in order the office.

Condições: Volunteers could cook their meals by their own in their flats, they are going to receive 150 euros each month.

Accommodation will be in rented flats shared with other ECS volunteers or Spanish people. They will be provided with standard equipment and essential household goods. and electricity, water, gas will be covered by the hosting organization. Internet connection is not facilitated by the hosting organization.
Accomodattion info pack and flat rules will be provided.

Local transport will be priovided for distance over 2,5 km from home to office.
If transport is needed, Each volunteer will have a chance to choose BIKE or BUS CARD
