Resumo: The Association is very active in town, and works to favour encounters between Italian students and foreigner ones: the occasions for the hosted volunteers to meet their peers coming from different socio-cultural backgrounds will be frequent. The city is also a remarkable tourist destination due to its abundance of artistic and cultural heritage and the proximity with other cities. The organization is located in the historical city centre, the city hosts the homonymous auditorium and the municipal library.

This project offers to volunteers the chance to test their skills in two principal fields:
1) promotion of cultural initiatives and services addressed to youth;
2) youth active participation to social life, due to services targeted to youth, with fewer opportunities, in
general, people in need.

Perfil: - predisposition to human interpersonal relationship
- good motivation to the project activities
- flexibility
- a knowledge of Italian language is recommended
- Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The project activities will involve the volunteers mostly in the following service areas:
• Linguistic and cultural Area
• Europe Corner Area and promotion of European citizenship among youngsters
• Activities and workshops in local schools
• Occasional support to the activities of the office

LINGUISTIC AREA
• Workshops in the local schools: the volunteers will hold intercultural language workshops in several schools. Thanks to the long cooperation between Progetto Giovani and local schools, volunteers will develop, with the teachers, various lessons and workshops for the students of 3th- 4th-5th classes of high schools. These workshops will be held in the volunteers’ mother tongue, or in English, and the main topics will concern European dimension and citizenship, their own countries (traditions and customs) and the other topics of school subjects.
• Tandem Language Learning between Italian and foreign youth to deepen or improving mutual
linguistic knowledge.

EUROPE CORNER
• participation to guidance seminars and meetings addressed to youth (target of the Erasmus Plus programme - in particular secondary schools students) bringing testimonies of their EVS experience;
• organisational support for the activities of the hosted Youth Exchanges,
• support in the dissemination of the possibilities addressed to youth in the EU countries in the areas of volunteering, education, job searching and leisure.
• realisation of intercultural initiatives and collaboration to the dissemination of texts or audio-video material about EVS experiences, also in collaboration with other European youth;

ACTIVITIES IN LOCAL SCHOOLS
Volunteers will be trained on non-formal education methods in order to set up interactive laboratories to be held in local high secondary schools. The aim of these laboratories is to promote european citizenship, different cultures and multiculturality in order to fight stereotypes and racism, and also to increase active participation of youngsters and their skills in a foreign language.
Activities proposed by volunteers during the last years
• front-office hours extension for reaching more youth;
• workshops realisation (i.e. music, recycling, photography, cultural tours within the city);
• individual or group language laboratories;
• intercultural evening organisation to introduce the volunteer’s country of origin or project.
• realisation of intercultural initiatives and collaboration to the dissemination of texts or audio-video material about EVS experiences, also in collaboration with other European youth;
• project writing for intercultural exchanges which could involve the volunteer’s country of origin or other sending organisation.
