Resumo: The Roma, mostly, EU citizens, form the largest "ethnic minority" group of the EU with a population of 10-12 millions across Europe, with the biggest number living in, Romania, Turkey,Bulgaria and Spain. In Turkey they live all over the country but mostly in Trakya, Çanakkale, Edirne, Tekirdag, Mersin, İzmir and İstanbul.
The biggest challenges that Roma are facing in their daily life are: Unemployment, poverty, lack of education, lack of acceptance by the society which creates obstacles for their integration and
employment in public organizations. Roma are discriminated and their rights are violated on daily basis by their neighbors, friends and colleagues.

This project aims to help the understanding of the history, cultural structure, difficulties and injustices of the Roma people from Europe. The project aims to develop the knowledge and understanding of participating youth about active European citizenship connected to the values of Europe but also to
build an ability to interpret real (mostly untold) stories from the Roma realities.

The objectives of the project are:
- the acquisition of specific social inclusion competencies for 10 volunteers.
-performing volunteering activities using non-formal education methods during a 12-month EVS stage, by 10 volunteers with reduced opportunities.
-the acquisition of participatory behaviors by 500 young Roma and 10 EVS volunteers.
- creating a long-term partnership between youth organizations and other social actors in order to exchange information specific to youth work and to promote the European Solidarity Corps.

The project aims to implement a 12-month volunteering activities for 10 young people with fewer opportunities from: Spain, France, Portugal, Turkey and Germany.
The main activities of the EVS mobility will be focused on testing, developing and implementing a media campaign, commonly called "Mobile Roma Books", and educational workshops for young people from 6 Roma communities in Valcea County.
For the implementation of EVS activities, non-formal education methods will be used: living library, storytelling, theater-forum, photo-voice, debates, knowing each other games, energies.

The results of the project will be:
- a 9-month volunteering mobility for 10 young persons with fewer opportunities.
- the project's web page, which will also serve as a platform for the exchange of good practices in the field of volunteering activities for young people from socio-economically disadvantaged communities, including Roma communities.
- the final conference magazine, which will include contributions and examples of good practices

Perfil: - Young people between 18-30 years old
- Boys and girls in equal number
- Young people ready to spent 1 year volunteer in Romania.

Tarefas: - Co-organizing summer kindergarten. Within this activity, which is implmented by ATRV in partnership with Valcea County Board of Education, the volunteers, together with the ATRV qualified personnel/trained staff, will go to the roma communities and will inform the parents about the summer kindergarten. They will also inform the parents about the advantages/benefits of the summer kindergarten and about how important is for their children to attend kindergarten before starting school, 1st grade. In this summer kinderdarten, the volunteers will organize interactive and recreational games for children (sport games, music and drawing workshops -40 Roma children will benefit from the activities of this project.

- Organizing two regional seminars/workshops. Within this activity, the volunteers supported by qualified personned, will create posters of the two seminars, information flyers and will also invite some representatives of the local authorities, parliamentaries, who, along with Roma leaders and Roma youth will debate subjects/topics related to EU policies on youth, civil/citizenship rights, combating poverty and social exclusion, combating prejudices/misconceptions and racism. - Organizing an annual conference, where the volunteers will share their experience gained during the EVS intership and will to other involved actors/partners the chance to share their own experience, also.

- Organizing a media information campaign. Supported by ATRV trained staff and in partnership National Council for Combating Discrimination and the Local Employment Agency, the volunteers will plan and implement a media campaign in Roma communities, this campaign will focus on presenting the civil rights, the importance of participation in the European Parliament elections, combating racism, prejudice, discrimination and drug use (drug abuse), combating poverty and social exclusion. In this media campaign, the volunteers will create promotional posters, information flyers, press releases, TV news, advertising spots and will appear on TV shows. - Collecting information on customes and traditions from the Roma communities and about traditional healthy food recipes from Roma communities.

- Organizing a festival of tolerance, which will start on 8 April 2020, The International Roma Day

- Identifying issues of Roma communities and strategies to solve them (drawing up projects, attracting partners, identifying types of income-generating activities, raising funds).

- Creating 6 volunteering clubs in 6 Roma communities. Within these clubs, the volunteers supported by ATRV personnel will implement the activities: educational workshops, intercultural learning, communication workshops, personal development workshops, rights awareness workshops, civic education workshops, sports activities, outdoor activities (hiking, fishing, tree planting on the occasion of the “forest month”, greening activities in the community, etc.).

Horário: The volunteers will work 6 hours / day from Monday to Friday. Their schedule will be organized as follow:
9.00.10.00: preparing the activity.
10.00-13.00: Social activities
13.00-14.00: Lunch break.
14.00-16.00: Activities.

The volunteers will have 2 days off every month, will have days off according to Romanian legislation and will have holidays according to the university year 2019-2020.
The volunteers will be accommodated in three apartments rented by ATRV in Rm.Valcea city. The apartments are equipped with central heating, water, TV cable and internet. The kitchen is fully equipped. The houses have 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms,2 kitchens and living room.

To feed, the volunteers will receive a fixed amount at the beginning of each month, amount which will allow them to buy aliments and cook themselves. Also at the beginning of the month, all volunteers will receive a fixed allowance (pocket money). The local transport will be provided free of charge for the entire EVS period by ATRV.

Condições: The volunteers will receive monthly 210 euro (90 euro as pocket money + 120 euro money for food).
