Resumo: Young people are now in an extremely difficult situation. The period when they enter adulthood, when they struggle with great difficulty to get an education, take their first job, i.e. they try to become full-fledged, adult members of society - this difficult period fell on the time of profound changes, economic crises and instability of life. The Foundation has been working to support young people in discovering their potential, in developing their passions and skills, so that they can get the most satisfaction out of their personal and professional lives. European Voluntary Service is an excellent form of developing key competences and stimulating civic activity, therefore, in connection with the mission of our foundation, we want to support young people who want to be volunteers and other people with them through EVS.
The aim of the project will be to support comprehensive development of young people, and above all to raise and acquire new skills, competences, entrepreneurship, which will affect the acquisition of social and professional experience, later used in personal life and the labor market. Participation in the project will also allow for the experience of cultural diversity and team cooperation.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
Tarefas: This project will involve 8 volunteers: 2 from Spain, 2 from Portugal, 2 from Romania and 2 from Italy. They will work with children in the Kindergarten, in the Center of Catholic Culture and in the Foundation helping in classes with people with disabilities. Volunteers will come for long-term volunteering lasting 12 months.
The volunteers' tasks will concern working with pre-school children (assistance to the teacher, preparing activities for children, care during walks, preparing games and activities, etc.), with disabled people (assistance in art therapy, eg joint work of art, handicrafts, carpentry, gardening, etc. , assistance in self-service of a disabled person, assistance in rehabilitation, etc.) and activities for children and adolescents.
In addition, they will be tasked with bringing their pupils to the diverse culture of Europe by presenting their country and instilling a sense of belonging to Europe. Volunteers will familiarize children, youth and adults with the history, geography, culture and languages of their countries. We plan to cooperate with schools, kindergartens and other organizations from our region, where volunteers, through the organization of many interactive meetings (adjusted to the age and capabilities of participants), will promote the idea of volunteering and spread cultural diversity and European citizenship.
