Resumo: Youth cultural center in Germany is looking for EVS volunteers to help in artistic activities.

The JugendKulturWerkstatt offers courses, projects and workshops for children and youths in the artistic and cultural fields. The participants are provided with the opportunity to explore their surroundings and to learn how to express themselves through artistic media.

They receive support and encouragement from artists. It is understood that the children and youths would want to organize their own events and workshops and these are integrated into the normal operation of the JuKuWe. There exists a close cooperation amongst the parents, partners, course participants and staff which provides for positive atmosphere throughout the JuKuWe. The artistic fields include Theatre, Art, Photography, Literature and Multimedia. The children and youths regularly participate in exhibitions and competitions. JuKuWe has been actively involved in international projects since 1997.

Goals
Child and Youth cultural work should provide the participants the support they need to articulate themselves freely and diversely through artistic means and thereby increase their own sense of self-worth.

Specific aims include:
Conveyance of artistic skills and abilities
Arousal and development of interests and inclinations
Creative exploration with various materials
Development of key social skills through the artistic-creative exploration
Inter-disciplinary and intercultural projects
Participation by children and youths in the artistic process
Artistic projects with partners

Tarefas: In cooperation with EVS, artistic projects in the areas of multimedia, theatre, portrait or applied arts are possible based on suitability. Projects are possible from the local to international level, involving children or youths and can be organized with various possible backgrounds or partners. Organization We are a public institution for children and youths independent of religion and social status. We offer artistic courses and projects starting with children at age 3. The oldest participants are students but can include young families and older citizens (depending upon the project) In the JuKuWe there are four full-time staff members, one ABM, one FSJ and a number of freelancers (art-ists and students) Motives We have had a FSJ/Kultur for the last six years now and see what effect the efforts of a young person have on our work. We offer young people the possibility to test themselves. At the same time we profit from the new ideas and the skills and abilities that the FSJers bring to us. With an international FSJer, we would expand this spectrum. New projects could be initiated and our international projects and partnerships would profit greatly. He/She will get to opportunity to orient him/herself. There is a specific person available to answer any questions or to help with any possible problems that arise.
