Resumo: The Youth department of the City, offers different services and programs in the field of youth and education, cooperation, environment and European citizenship in order to support the young in their process of emancipation. The presence of volunteers is an important experience that gives added value to the youth department and its services for its intercultural character, its European dimension and its interaction with youth and staff of the organization itself.

The objective of the Youth department is to enhance the participation and European citizenship, tolerance and civic solidarity. Both in the field of Youth Policy and European awareness, youth activities while promoting active citizenship and the importance of a more united Europe, from the interaction mentioned develop.European volunteers collaborate with the development of the activities planned but never replace a worker.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: INDIVIDUAL TASKS
They are held among others the following activities:
- Collaborate in primary schools in the city giving information to young people.
- This is the education Project and that means working with children between 1 and 3 years old, mainly with Romanian and gipsy origin. The activities at the school are very rewarding and everyone welcomed you in a warm and friendly way.

It’s a very good environment to develop your skills with children and to improve your language proficiency. The activities start at the school from 10 am to 4 pm, from Monday to Thursday. From 10 to 12 is play time, followed by lunch, where you will help them to learn how to eat. From 1 to 3:30 is their nap time and you will help watching them and I also have lunch. Then, from 3:30 to 4 you will help with the afternoon snacks and it’s time to go home! One a week you will have a radio show with the other volunteers, one of the highlights of the week!
Outside this project you have the opportunity to participate in language exchange, Spanish and English.

GROUP TASKS
The volunteer has to participate with the other volunteers in these events:
- Dia del SIDA (December)
- Elx al carrer (June)
- Semana Europa (May)
- Charlas en IES (from November until April)
- Anniversary day of our Centre (October- November)
- Descentralización de la información (October- April) 20 meeting in schools.
- Awareness event inequality in the world (October - May)
- Youth Center final event (June)
- Diversa (June)
All these dates could be change depending of the event.
- Support to the English lessons at schools.
