Resumo: The Youth department of the City, offers different services and programs in the field of youth and education, cooperation, environment and European citizenship in order to support the young in their process of emancipation. The presence of volunteers is an important experience that gives added value to the youth department and its services for its intercultural character, its European dimension and its interaction with youth and staff of the organization itself.

The objective of the Youth department is to enhance the participation and European citizenship, tolerance and civic solidarity. Both in the field of Youth Policy and European awareness, youth activities while promoting active citizenship and the importance of a more united Europe, from the interaction mentioned develop.European volunteers collaborate with the development of the activities planned but never replace a worker.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: INDIVIDUAL TASKS
The City has over 10 years working with young people aged between 14 and 35. The work focuses on three areas: counseling, recreational program and youth training.
European activities (Infoeuropa):
- Give information to young people in The Youth Centre.
- To collaborate on the informative sessions organized by the city high schools to inform the young people about the diverse activities (60% of your time)
- To collaborate with the Youth information point needs.
- Writing newsletter, articles, events, news for European Youth Portal
- Having presentation about EU programs in schools
- Preparing English conversation and EVS presentation.
- Create new design and image for events and give visibility the youth information (40% of your time)
- Create videos and newsletter with youth activities
- Support for exhibitions at the centre, collaborating with taking pictures,
- Create discussion groups to discuss the exhibition with young users.
- Preparing radio program with other volunteers
- Preparing workshops for young people (media tools, how to find a job, create your CV,…)
- Helping to organize events (European Week, International Day of volunteers, International Day of AIDS etc.
- Possibility of making personal project
Media and communication: the volunteer will help the media and communication department with blogs, posters, add´s and social network.

GROUP TASKS
The volunteer has to participate with the other volunteers in these events:
- Dia del SIDA (December)
- Elx al carrer (June)
- Semana Europa (May)
- Charlas en IES (from November until April)
- Anniversary day of our Centre (October- November)
- Descentralización de la información (October- April) 20 meeting in schools.
- Awareness event inequality in the world (October - May)
- Youth Center final event (June)
- Diversa (June)
All these dates could be change depending of the event.
- Support the English lessons at schools
