Resumo: The host organization was opened back in 1996. Since then our organisation´s aim is to offer activities that help young people to develop themselves. We offer wide non-formal education to youth aged 6-26y including youth with fewer opportunities. Our organization has 2 buildings where we have 1 director, 5 full time youth workers and 10 teachers working with local kids.

Our main goal is to promote active citizenship among young people and therefore we offer them vide trainings courses (project writing, event leading, management courses, cooking, handicraft, sport events, animation lessons, acting courses, etc.) As we live on the island our possibilities are not so wide as they are on the mainland and therefore we try to offer creative ways to spend free time. .) We are also very active in the field of volunteering in local community. Since 2008 we have also organized many international projects like EVS, Youth Exchanges and other international events like International Youth Band Festival and training courses. We have been a sending organization for 6 people and we have been hosting organization for two volunteers.In the autumn we will have a new volunteer in our organization.

Perfil: o comfortable and confident around youngsters
o collaborative, reliable and flexible;
o able to work both independently and in a team;
o take initiative;
o speak basic English;
o it would be preferable that the volunteer has some hobbies, past experiences in sports (healty life style projects) or with different tehnologies (using computers, smartphones, APPS, programs etc) or if not at least a interest to these areas.

Age: 18-30

Tarefas: • working in the youth center. You are going to work in a innovative structure with multiple options to entertain youngsters from 7 to 26 years old. Inside the center you are going to have the possibility to organize your own indoor workshops – projects to develop and realize with the youngsters
• working in the youth center next to the beach on summer. During the summer period (form june to august) the center is moving to house close to the beach. It is possible for you to play and organize different activities (games, workshops, handycraft) outside and inside etc.
• be involved on the local/social events for youngsters (help to prepare, organize and carry out- be involved and take a part, give your ideas/ make your ideas to happen).
Other activities:
o communicate, engage in fun activities with youth in youth centre;
o help in hobby lessons;
o the volunteer is also welcome to create and fulfill her/his own ideas, projects and activities.

Horário: - 35 hours/ week, usually Monday-Friday. Youth center is opened for young people in the afternoon (mostly 12.00/13.00- 19.00/20.00). Volunteer can come a earlier to prepare his/her activity for the day, but not very early in the morning.
- 2 days off per week; usually Saturday and Sunday. In case the youth center has an event on the weekend, the volunteer will receive his/her free day in the immediately working days that follow.
- Holidays: 2 days/ month (maximum 20 working days for the whole project).
