Resumo: The host organization is a non-profit youth, cultural and social organization at local and European levels. The organization is promoter for social-cultural projects in the city and focuses on the following task areas: Socio-culture and social participition, youth culture work, youth (social) work, media projects and youth protection, European projects and engagement.

In order to realize this, the organization operates the socio-cultural centre, a modern youth, cultural and social institution closed to the center of Leipzig and contact point for many citizens and their initiatives. With 60-200 visitors and participants and over 100 events and courses a week, it offers a wide range of activities for every age group in a variety of genres (from an integrative group working on photographie to choir, youth theatre groups and senior tap dance).

The centre, for instance, has five differently equipped event rooms, a media area, a self-help bicycle-repair centre, the youth café “neulicht,” a band practice room, a shared apartment for young people engaged in voluntary service, an open meeting point for children and youths, as well as the offices of various associations and initiatives.We have been active in the field of European Volunteer Service since 2001. Meanwhile, we send 8-10 people per year abroad in EVS-projects and host 7-9 people per year in projects all over the town. Since 2012 we have been active in the field of sending and hosting senior volunteers.

Perfil: Potential volunteers should be interested in documentary and animated film movies and should bring enthusiasm for films but also a sense for communication and public relations.

Tarefas: The future volunteer will get first an introduction into all areas of the Festival and receive a general insight and overview. In addition, the volunteer will be introduced into the technical processes, communication (website), socialmedia (facebook and instagram). Also the volunteer will work in the field of Volunteercoordination for the DOK-festival.
As volunteer you will get to know the whole preparation and organisation process of the festival during the EVS and work active in it.
After introduction and orientation the future volunteer can chose him/herself the area in which he/she wants to work according to his/her interest.

There is one main task area:
- Public relations:
campaign planning, project management, media planning/print management, contact with / support of journalists, database and website, online redaction, press review, communication on the website, socialmedia like facebook and instagram and furthermore the assistance in coordination of volunteers for DOK-festival
