Resumo: Our aim is: Trough cross cultural experience and training we want to equip youth for involvement and responsibility in our organisations and in society locally and globally.

We have received two volunteers every year for five years now and our goal is to continue with this. We find it motivating and inspiring to receive volunteers and enjoy having them as a european part of our staff.

The host organization is a meeting place for cross-cultural understanding and international work, with common goals within the fields of development, mission and leadership. We are recognized by the departement of education as a school in practical skills and training
The organization is owned by three organization. Those three organizations are NGO’s focusing on development, poverty reduction, mission, leadership and youth work. We offer a course in cross-cultural understanding and international work. Each of the three organizations run an exchange program of ten months. The ten months is a good mixture of theory and practice, where all the participants have a 6-7 months placement in a different culture.

One of our distinguishments is the international setting at the school. We have participants from a total of 13-14 different countries in Asia, Africa, South-America and Europe (Madagascar, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Etiophia, South-Africa, Brazil, Nepal, China and Norway). Approximately 70 youths participate in the program each year. Cross cultural learning thus happens both at the centre in Norway and abroad in the places of internship!

Perfil: We would like to receive young people that are eager to get to know different people and different cultures. The volunteers have to like being together with both children, youths and adults.It is an advantage to be fond of sports and social activities and be extrovert and outgoing. It is good if the volunteers are eager to learn languages, and are able to communicate in English. We expect that the volunteers will be loyal to the Christian values, however, they will not be asked to participate in activities that are in contradiction to his or hers values.

Tarefas: Hald International Center is a school within cross-cultural understanding and international work (development,mission and leadership). It is an exchange program with around 40 norwegian and 30 international students. The main tasks for our two volunteers are to assist the staff with different practical issuses concerning the students and some administrative and social work among the students. They will part of the year live together with students from about 15 different countries which gives them a big opportunity to learn about cultures form all over the world. A period of the year the volunteers will attend norwegian classes and work outside the school in a kindergarden for refugee children or volountary with refugees. (this can be changed from year to year). Our aim is: through cross cultural experience and training we want to equip volunteers for involvement and responsibility in organisations and in society locally and globally.
