Resumo: Association Comunities for Youth is a NGO activing in City of Bailesti Soth West Oltenia region of Romania. ACT mission is to develop, implement and support youth development programs built around the concepts of lifelong learning, mobility and associativity. ACT works to empower young people to participate actively in society to improve their own lives. The aim of this empowerment is to establish a wide-based community movement which encourages the positive involvement of young people in solving issues which affect them, treating them as resources, not as problems.

Vision: To become a center of excellence in the provision of positive youth development programmes opportunities for every young person.

Mission: The mission of the organization is to offer non-formal educational programmes that provide opportunities for young people to develop1 social connectedness; 2.a sense of personal efficacy and mastery motivation;3.a desire to learn and curiosity about one’s world; 4.a sense of identity and meaning in one’s life; 5.Positive self-regard the organization is to develop programs that emphasize the voluntary and respect, protect and preserve the environment go hand in hand sectoral national strategies and priorities promoted by the European Union in the development of social economy. The organisation was borne out of the desire of its members to have a more structured framework trough which to be able to implement activities that would lead to community development and promotion of social economy.

Perfil: - Aged between 18 to 30 years
- active, open-minded, creative, innovative, responsible and motivated volunteers
- The volunteers who apply for this project need to like and be willing to work with youth for 6 months.
- The volunteers of this project should, above all else, show willingness to learn and see their EVS experience as a learning process.
- Basic level of English (being able to make herself/himself understood by the others – able to communicate).

Tarefas: The project phases will be:
1. Preparation, adaptation and training:
- Capacity Building: During the week long training we will be using non-formal methods to target volunteer preparation in areas such as youth animation, how to plan, implement and monitor an activity program, how to work with youth, inter-cultural environments and conflict management, youth group activities, community needs analysis, etc. The trainings will contribute to the personal and professional development of the volunteers by aiming them with all the knowledge and abilities necessary for the project to be easily implemented, getting them ready for the tasks ahead.

- Community Discovery: where, assisted by the mentor, the volunteers get to know the community better, meet locals, are presented main points of interest (hospital, location of shops, free time facilities in Bailesti), are presented cultural aspects of Romanian life. Also in this phase they go to the partner institutions to make introductions, receive additional training on internal rules of the schools, meet with the target group and perform need analysis.

2. Campaign:
In this phase the volunteers will be engaged in school wide promotion of the project and proposed activities (live presentations, preparing and setting up flyers, setting up information points in the schools and community) and registering the students who want to participate.

3. Develop program:
In this phase the volunteers will be engaged in organizing the youth into groups based on their interest: sports, foreign languages, culture and active citizenship.
Each topic, through methods used, will be associated with development of specific skills, competencies and attitudes as such:
Sports: development of teamwork, self-discipline, group dynamics, planning, tolerance and inclusion, desire for self-improvement, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, spirit of associativity

Languages: improve self-confidence, develop analytical thinking, expand their job and career opportunities, develop lifelong ability to communicate with person from other countries and backgrounds

Culture: gaining knowledge about other cultures, multilingualism and its importance; expanded mindset through exploring different points of view on life, open minds, values, critical thinking by analyzing other cultural points of view, tolerance and mutual understanding, exploring identity in a multicultural world, curiosity.
Active citizenship: understanding rights and responsibilities, social role and status, better understanding of society as a whole, how to initiate social change, teamwork and coordination, self-fulfillment and self-expression through social participation, development of pro-social attitudes, spirit of associativity

4. Evaluation and dissemination of results:
The last month of the project will be dedicated to actions relating to the evaluation of project results, the learning outcomes of the target group and volunteers, preparing the methodological booklet containing all methods used in during the activities, preparing the Youth-pass and setting up coordination agreements for the continuation of the communities of interests
