Resumo: The project “Building dreams for you(th)” is an EVS project taking place at the Baia Mare YMCA Association in Romania. Activities will start on the 20th of January until 20th of July 2012. The project is based on arts and culture and social inclusion (rroma communities). Its main objectives are: promoting non-formal education methods, getting youngsters involved in their communities, awarness of their European identity, mutual understanding between young people from different nationalities, promoting solidarity and tolerance.
The main activities will be held at our local Youth Centre, making it a place where young people can share their ideas and their vision towards a bright future. The EVS volunteers will get the chance to coordinate their own workshops (dancing, music, theatre, arts and crafts, animation, juggling, etc) together with the local volunteers. Workshops will aslo be held for a group of Rroma children, making them feel integrated and accepted. The methods used will be non-formal, playing to learn and learning to play, learning by doing, learning by experience. At some point the volunteers will organise a street animation festival for the local community.
The non-formal methods used during the project will help the youth of the community and also the EVS volunteers to become more responsible and aware about the world outside their community, learning to accept the interculturality and diversity. Also, our project will bring the opportunity for the EVS volunteers to understand solidarity, tolerance and diversity”.
